When they went to the underworld and tried to scape from the ghost king, remember that he said he'll let them go if they prove they were really married, and he made them to go to a magical barrier that destroy anyone who is not married. And they past. They were really married (they didn't know why at the time, they thought the ghost wedding has something to do) but in reality, they passed it because they had their souls from the 0.5 world (chi fei's and TXJ's souls)

I keep thinking about the whole story, that it is a tragedy for both male leads because even if Mo Ran was the abuser, he himself was wrecked emotionally by the flower and Shi Zun, even as the victim, did not manage to save Mo Ran from his downfall, not noticing his changes to behaviour. The whole story left my heart battered with all the turmoil and conflicting emotions that both MLs experienced. It's a novel where both of them were at fault and also victims of Shi Mei. It was Shi Mei's fault at the end and even then, he was just trying to save his clansmen, though he ended up hurting one of them(male lead). The whole novel was really, really well done, expressing all the conflicts and growth each character has. But I will never re-read it. I just can't get past that pain.

This audio drama gave me so much joy, like a genuine sense of content, and Xue Meng's whole attitude to their marriage is a cherry on the top of it all because I was honestly so dubious on how he would react to the whole thing given his character but I was so relieved and pleased that he did this. This is so heartwarming. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much aha
