  • From the earliest years of the College’s foundation, Lincoln’s scholars have also been book collectors. Printed books and manuscripts from their personal libraries are still found in the College’s historic collections, valuable evidence of their lives, studies and book buying habits. Professor Henry Woudhuysen, manuscript expert Dr James Willoughby, and Lincoln’s antiquarian cataloguer Dr Sarah Cusk will look at the libraries of three of these men: Richard Fleming, Bishop of Lincoln and one of the College’s founders; the 17th century philologist, and Rector of Lincoln, Thomas Marshall; and a later Rector, the polymath Sir Walter Oakeshott.
