    I'm learning Mr. Robert, from you and Jason. This morning i Set up on the ground in the middle of a down dead tree. 30 minutes later, a Lil ole spike walked in front of me at about 10 feet and never knew I was there. Wow. Heart pounding!!! I let him walk...😊

    I’ve been hunting from the ground most of my life gun and bow and there is nothing like having a deer that close to you . When you were talking in the video about the buck and how close he was I could feel that excitement and that feeling come over me . Thanks for taking us along happy Thanksgiving to you and your family God bless .

      I also had a close encounter on Saturday morning sitting in my Waldrop seat. I had 3 deer within 20 feet of me and 1 mature buck at 30 yards. 1 of the 3 was a young spike chasing 2 doe while the mature buck was trying to run the spike away. The 2 doe and spike came up on my rt side before I could get completely turned and set up. The 3 some stopped 10 steps in front looking rt though me but not being able to determine what I was. The doe decided to come past with 1 passing me at 6ft!! while the spike stayed put. I tried to slow draw on him but rt before I got to full anchor he busted out and away they all went! Man what an adrenaline rush though. There’s nothing like it!! Sorry for the long story but watching your video just rekindled my moment. Keep bringing the videos and keep the Lord first!!

    I always look behind me if I hear anything because 9 times out of 10 it's another hunter because I hunt high pressured public land. I can't tell you how many times I've had other people walk up behind me

  • @mwwilson64
    @mwwilson64 9 месяцев назад +1

    Nothing like having them close! I solely hunt from the ground,either stillhunting or in blinds. One of the coolest experiences I had I didn't even get a shot.
    Was stillhunting on some public land,and had found a huge scrape scouting. I worked my way towards it,then saw a HUGE huck coming towards me. I had a piece of dental floss tied to my upper loop. As he came closer,in light wind,I had it pointing at me,it hung straight down,then started pointing toward him. He slowly turned around,got as low he could,and slipped away out of my life. Heard someone got him during the shotgun season,and he scored around 170. Sure would have been sweet to have got him with a longbow,oh well!!
    Keep the videos coming Brother!

    Fun stuff!! Had a real close one that came right up my wind to about 5yds while I was sitting under a hanging dead fall in my waldrop 3 weeks ago..only caught a side eyeball view of him..he hung out behind d me for 2-3 min and then just calmly walked off 45° angle like he knew I couldn't draw in that direction.. In early October I had a face to face with him while slipping in on a trail to some very tight bedding on my hands and knees..I had just stood up and moved a few steps when he came out of a thicket filled draw at full speed into my peripheral vision..I had a instinctive reaction only to protect myself and raised my bow to ward off getting run over..he pulled up short at about 5 steps from me! I had just time to touch tab to string and he was airborne in a turn back into the brush and GONE! ADrENeLInE!!!

    On this Thanksgiving I am thankful for you Robert. God is using you in more ways than I can list. I love this type of video just as much as the ones where you capture the deer and pigs on camera. I would much rather see and hear the before and after than to ever have you miss an opportunity because you were trying to film. I know you are capable of it and it will no doubt happen but please always make your success and enjoyment priority over getting footage for us. I will watch and enjoy no matter what the content is. Never forget how much of a blessing and inspiration you are for so many of us.Thank you, God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

    Always a great ride with you Robert, even tho I no longer can get out like you still can, I like many others can experience it with you. I still hunt from the ground but now pretty much use a pop up blind because of too many aches and pains forcing me to move or stand up. But even then, having a deer walk within feet of your blind and not know you are there is still very exciting. Here at the base of a mountain, the wind is pretty much sketchy all of the time unfortunately. But I work the wind as best as I can and have my Osage selfbow at ready. It is hard to describe to others sometime about how you smell a rutting buck so strongly that you know that he is in spitting distance of you. I hope and pray that you get to feeling better quickly. And yes, we have so much to be thankful for and thankful for year round. One of my best blessings is seeing that you have put out another video, yeah I go back and watch the old ones again too. Be blessed my Brother

    It's just a thought, something I learned, I went and got some milkweed pods and got the seeds with the floss. When I'm sitting, I'll toss a few of the seeds in the air. I find they catch the wind and drift, giving me an idea of how the wind swirls and moves around where I'm sitting. I don't get quite as much from the puffers. That line that you talked about in your other video, it's more of a cloud that goes into the direction of the wind. Strongest in center but it'll eddy and swirl, just like a creek or river - the leaves drift downstream but they'll shift and dance around. Anyway, just a thought.

    I had a couple of does at about 7 yards last night as well. She caught me at half draw and with a long bow I had to decide to let down or keep drawing. Needless to say when I kept drawing she was gone. They don’t see you in that kill suit unless you move. This ground hunting is exciting. I may never climb again. Happy Thanksgiving Brother.
