Our beloved Shaykh won't like me saying this. But I believe Shaykh Hamza Yusuf is the Ghazali of our time. We're so fortunate to have such an amazing luminary at a time of darkness. And at a time where other scholars and daees have become celebrity shaykhs for fame and money.

May Allah bless you sheikh Hamza yucef, you are the reason I changed, bcz of the blessing of you a lot of things changed in my life, my mindset changed to one that's better, you taught us to always be good and strive for goodness and have a strong sense of purpose and make good use of the time we tarry here.I follow your advice on many topics and issues you passed in the speeches you made ,I realized it's wise to steer away from the things of instant gratification of the modern world and time wasting habits, bcz I realized these things won't contribute to the things I want to pursue and fulfill in my own life.May Allah give you goodness in this world and the next and Grant you Paradise. Alhamdoulilah for the blessing of you for this Ummah 🤲

    Bismillah
AsSalamu Alkuim, Alhumduillah, May Allah continue to bless Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and his family and all the Muslim's and all those who benefit from his wisdom.
MashaAllah I love this poem! I love the whole poem but these parts that are my favorite:
I envy the sand that met his feet,
Of a sun whose light could not compete
    ...
With his, whose face did shine so bright,
I envy sightless trees that gazed
    Upon his form, completely gazed
Not knowing if the sun had risen,...
With those who prayed, and fasted too,
Simply because he told them to.
    ....
    With truth and kindness, charity
From God, Who gave such clarity,
His mercy comes in one He sent
To mold our hearts more heaven bent.
    ...
I envy all, there at his side
Who watched the turning of the tide
I envy the cup that gave him drink,
His thoughts, that helped us all to think.
To be one thought that passed his mind
Inspiring him to act so kind.
InShaAllah Shaykh Hamza Yusuf will publish it and have signed copies available for donations to Zaytuna :) May Allah bless him to keep writing, it reflects his beautiful heart and the love of Allah and His messenger.

I envy the sand that met his feet
I’m jealous of honey he tasted sweet
Of birds that hovered above his head
Of spiders who spun their sacred web
To save him from his enemies
I envy clouds formed from the seas
That gave him cover from the heat
Of a sun whose light could not compete
With his, whose face did shine so bright
That all was clear in blinding night
I envy sightless trees that gazed
    Upon his form completely dazed
Not knowing if the sun had risen
    But felt themselves in unison
With those who prayed, and fasted too
Simply because he told them to
    With truth and kindness, charity
From God who gave such clarity
His mercy comes in one He sent
To mold our hearts more heaven bent
I envy all there at his side
Who watched the turning of the tide
As truth prevailed and falsehood fled
And hope restored life to the dead
Men and Women through him found grace
To seek together God’s noble face
I envy the cup that gave him drink
His thoughts that helped us all to think
To be one thought that passed his mind
Inspiring him to act so kind
For me this world is not one jot
If I could simply be a thought
From him to God throughout the ages
    As revelation came in stages
I pity all who think it odd
To hear him say there is one God
Or he was sent by God to men
    To hone their spirits’ acumen
It’s pride that blinds us from the sight
That helps good men to see his light
He taught us all to be God’s slaves
And he will be the one who saves
    Humanity from sinful pride
Muhammad has God on his side
So on this day be blessed and sing
For he was born to grace our Spring
    With lilies, flowers, life’s rebirth
In a dome of green like his on earth
    ~~Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

I LOVE this poem except the word envy. It could say I object instead. This happened to me too with something I wrote about the prophet s.a.w.s. that was inaccurate, so I just changed it once I found out,. I had said, "To letter the unlettered an impossible plea" - but the prophet was not unlettered. When you know better, you do better.
