      @@FromTheVoidGames hahaha yeah I can definitely imagine the pain of doing that so thank you for saving me from that. I’ve got most of the major titles myself now so I think I’ll total up how much the ones I’m missing costs (minus Shantae as all those games are on Switch so I might as well get them there if I ever want to play them) during this week as I watch through your whole video and if it’s only like £50 or something then I’ll pick them all up as I’ve been doing surveys as a past time and I can say with certainty that I can make that up before the eshop closes down. It’s truly amazing how much I have saved doing surveys though as now I have pretty much all the money I need on my 3ds right now to get the rest of the 3ds exclusives left on my wish list. That’ll mean around £140 spare to spend on Yokai Watch 3, possibly that insanely expensive Ace Attorney cross over game and then on Wii U exclusives which thankfully there shouldn’t be too many of. Your videos have certainly helped me find the majority of the games I’ve gotten though so thank you again

I'm in a situation where I can't do the Wii U system transfer because my Wii is setup as Uk and my Wii U as EU. If I try to change to UK I get a bunch of similar warnings about being unable to play my digital games but nobody, including Nintendo's own support can confirm if this is true or if I can simply switch back again later.

    Ah DSiWare, what a weird era. It's like Nintendo had this weird philosophy that digital games had to be bite-sized and couldn't be full experiences (hence all the stripped down versions of DS games)
    But it's great to see you filter out the gems from the trash!
    I'm pretty happy with my DSiWare collection. Got UNO, some random noughts and crosses game, Bookworm, Mixed Messages, myPostcards (an actual really cool but basic postcard creator) , Photo Dojo, Game & Watch: Mario's Cement Factory, Extreme Hangman 2, Photo Clock and Mario vs. Donkey Kong Minis March Again
    For the most part my 3DS wishlist is complete, just gotta get Pokemon Blue, Gold and Silver (I want all Pokemon games installed for pokedex completion and preservation purposes) , Luigi's Mansion 1 (I don't own or plan on buying a GameCube) , Fire Emblem Fates, and finally Radiant Historia- Perfect Chronology.
    I have $60 AUD on my 3DS right now and I've been torn about whether I should buy Fates now or later, I'm thinking now so I have time to get to Chapter 6, but what do you think?
    IMPORTANT EDIT: I was convinced by Chronos Twins, but not all games are available in all regions! I'm from Australia and it isn't on the Australian eShop, which I believe is the same for all PAL region countries. Couldn't get Penguin Patrol or Mighty Milky Way either :(
    Also wtf? Risky's Revenge DSiWare version isn't available anymore in my region either! It got delisted for some reason

    Great that you mentioned ‘X-Scape’ (or ‘3D Space Tank’ as it is known here in Europe). Such a criminally underrated game despite being published by Nintendo.
    Don’t be put off by the low poly graphics. Trust me when I say they are PERFECT for the vibe that the game is going for. The abstract environments and seriously cool electronic soundtrack make it perhaps the closest a game has ever come to capturing the aesthetic of the original ‘Tron’. It is honestly one of the most amazingly atmospheric games I’ve ever played - certainly for a handheld.
    I actually really dig the control scheme using the stylus to move and buttons to shoot. It feels much more like a tank-sim that way and makes it much more immersive in my opinion.
    Shame they never made a sequel for the 3DS. Stereoscopic 3D would have fit perfectly with the first-person sci-fi tank battles and tunnel racing. Not only that but the low-poly abstract aesthetic would make it feel like a next-gen Virtual Boy game - but in a good way.

    • @FromTheVoidGames
      @FromTheVoidGames  Год назад +1

      Absolutely, X-Scape is a must get and one of the best titles on DSiWare hands down, really impressive actually. Such a shame its as obscure as it is. It would have definetly been awesome to get a sequel on the 3DS, you are right, with the 3D effect it would look amazing, they missed a great opportunity there.

    The info has been incredibly helpful and I've played a few of the games in this video. Zenonia is definitely one of the games I grew up playing on my ipod touch, sadly games 2 onward were not preserved well and were a lot of fun. The OG one on DSi was fine enough for what it was but I feel like it could've had its entire series ported over as a collection since they're fairly small in size. Though the music loops of the games would eventually tire on me as would the gameplay when there weren't enough enemies to challenge me or the options to get stronger were limited. Still somewhat fun revisiting sometimes though. But Crystal Monsters is a game you ought to avoid because, aside from being a little hard to follow it is unfair and unstable to play. I would get lost, confused, at most of the time since getting familiar with how it works would grow tiresome without a guide, really makes it hard to get into when there is so little to the game as a whole. Never got far but from what I saw others go through it may not be worth the space unless you're really curious about it.
    Otherwise your coverage always surprises me in what you show and describe as some of these games I'd either never play myself or consider looking into. The presentation and PSA for those who are curious on preserving their DSiWare. But the best part is the space and music accompanied with each game. Keep up the fantastic work man, I always get excited to see whenever you upload a new video.

    • @FromTheVoidGames
      @FromTheVoidGames  Год назад +1

      Yeah, I looked up the other Zenonia games and they seem unatainable now, it sucks.
      You are not the only one criticising Crystal Monsters. The thing I liked the most about it were the battle inputs that increase damage or defense. I played a chunk of it and was enjoying, but apparently it becomes unfair later on, bummer.
      Glad to know you enjoy the presentation with the music! Some people prefer no interruptions, but I much prefer giving some room for the game to breathe without me speaking over it all the time so that people have a good sense of each game.
      Thanks for the support as always Scott! Sorry it took me so long to circle back to this comment, have been concentrating in finishing this DSiWare list, only now I am responding to comments :D

    DSi Ware is Nintendo being scared to death of pirating (thanks to original DS) & going overboard with protection measures.
    I know about these details because I had a DSi since 2010 & didn't pick up a 3DS until 2013.
    I'm very used to the clunky 'copy then delete' file management system of the DSi.
    A 3DS is literally a DSi inside so that's why it works like this. They loosened up a little with the overlaying 3DS structure.
    Luckily once downloaded DSi Ware can be redownloaded at any time so long as they keep the DSi Ware & 3DS eShop stores open for those purposes. Same exists for WiiWare. Can't make new purchases but can redownload your old ones.

    • @FromTheVoidGames
      @FromTheVoidGames  Год назад +1

      Hi Ralph. Kinda. Most, about 95% of them, have been dumped properly online. Some, like Armada, are not found anywhere that I know of. However, emulating for the DSiWare is very complicated. Only 1 emulator works for most games, no$gba, but its not easy at all to get it working. MelonDS is work in progress for DSiWare games, but very lacking so far. And even in no$gba if the game needs the camera or the microphone to work it instantly crashes, there is no support for that. So the best option would be to mod a DS or a 3DS, but getting DSiWare games working on those is also not easy from what I hear. Thanks for watching!
