  • Csárdás is a traditional Hungarian folk dance. It originated in Hungary and was popularized by bands in Hungary and some neighboring lands. The csárdás is characterized by a variation in tempo : it starts out slowly and ends in a very fast tempo.
Vittorio Monti was an Italian composer, violinist, mandolinist and conductor. His most famous work is his Csárdás, written around 1904 and played by almost every gypsy orchestra. Monti was born in Naples, where he studied violin and composition at the Conservatorio di San Pietro a Majella. Around 1900 he received an assignment as the conductor for the Lamoureux Orchestra in Paris, where he wrote several ballets and operettas.
The piece is arranged for the Roland Music Atelier organ in the gypsy rhythmic style, after a first orchestral part more classical, with no less than 13 different strings, including 3 ‘magic strings’ (N.Cello, N.Violin, N.Strings), harp, mandolin, bass and percussion. As it is very fast, it's hard to play and I took some liberties with the original score ... I hope you will excuse the errors.
The Roland Music Atelier organ, compared to other high-end organs such as Yamaha (Electone, Tyros), Hammond, Lowrey, Wersi or Böhm is one of the best musical instruments ever produced thanks to the versatility and the richness of its voices, from the sound of classical pipe or theater organ of the silent-movie era to up-tempo jazz and rock organs, with harmonic drawbars.
    Chris

Ah ha! Very nice. You made the organ sing beautifully. I am behind but very soon will have 2, but, memorizing 6 songs for the suit proves difficult. May a sheet or two up.

Thank you so much Paul, for your support. Yes, it is true that the fingers placement on the keyboard is very important to play this piece, which was not easy for me, because I never learned the piano.
