Tekken Tag Tournament is a unique tag fighter in the sense that it's 1: 3D, and 2: a game where when one of your characters die, you lose the round. So on top of all the knowledge checks in the game already, you have to learn when to tag out and restore red health.
As long as matchmaking works properly, the depth of tag/assist fighters shouldn't be a problem. Specially with how fun 2v2 already was in the first Alpha.
I am pretty confident that 2XKO will be a hit within the FGC community but I still have my reservations about its reach extending to players already put off by fighting games. The simple controls was a great start but i worry it’ll be completely overshadowed by being a tag fighter.

I think Tag Fighters produce a better viewer experience than traditional fighters because tagging inherently introduces a ton of mix-up and outplay potential. Tag fighters being so unbalanced and fast paced means they're great for getting clips to build social media hype.
They're actually worse for viewer experience when it turns into a jumble of incomprehensible explosions and motion blur. If people can't follow what's happening, they won't be interested. It's why other modern fighters like Strive and SF6 have slowed down and added more hit stun to make it easier for viewers (and players) to follow.
Mostly disagree with that A casual viewer sees a random tag and suddenly 4 characters r all on the screen at once doing different attacks, u don't even know who's who or what team they're in. Its better if u know the game sure but visual clarity always takes a nose dive. Couple that with tag fighters being faster on average than 1v1s it can be difficult to watch
Actually, Fighter's History Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!!, released on the Super Famicom in 1995 was the first time a fighting game got a tag mode with actual tag mechanics, even before Kizuna Encounter and X-Men vs Street Fighter
I do understand why they opted for a tag fighter, but I think it would have worked better as a 3v3 one. Just like in LoL, it would have been like having a tank, a support and a damage dealer.
No mention of SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy? 😞 One day it will get the love it deserves Once you get used to the fact that you can only knock out the opponent with a Super and take the time to learn the mechanics, you will discover how well thought out the game is I have seeing japanese pro players doing amazing stuff with the tag system and the items SNK Heroines is like a fusion of Smash Bros and Marvel vs Capcom
Project L doesn't need to limit itself to being a tag fighter for one thing. It has the budget and reach to have both a tag and 1v1 mode. I think it's being safe right now, however
2xko will probably attract new players, but will fall off due to saltiness of losing over and over. Like alot of other fighting game does, but probably will be a little more toxic due to the game able to queue with a partner instead of playing alone, and goes with the blame game, like any other cooperative PVP games out there.
As someone who still remembers how I felt when I started to play LOL on my own in 2017, that's wild. The new player experience got better with time as they updated the shop and the runes, but it's still a mind-boggling undertaking to learn about matchups, items and the strategy around those.
The thing I don't like about some of these fighting games is that the combo counter doesn't stop at 100. I wished all future fighting games made it so the combo counter always stops at 100 (or 99).
@@k-thesupreme3511 I remember playing Capcom vs. SNK 2, and I was using Training mode to use infinite groove gauges and have it so opponent doesn't die with no health left.
