I'm curious where they kept a camera view so the panel and the audience could see what the TV would show, like when they blurred Mark Goodson as a joke in this episode, or in later episodes like where Gary Burghoff had to duck the camera or they put Charles out of focus in revenge.
Well sometimes you can see a monitor at stage right, audience facing the stage, on camera from time to time, the camera caught it in a shot behind Fannie once during a head to head match in MG75 and then when the contestant goes over to hug her for the win. I think that is what Charles is looking at when he is looking to his left off stage when the camera catches him sometimes. Also Johnny had to look at a monitor when doing the intro the one time he subbed for Gary who was late.. There might be one on stage left because when Richard took off with Gene's shoe in MG75 Gene comes back on stage barefooted and seems to be blushed and is embarrassed that they are showing his bare foot on camera, Gene is looking to his right like he is looking at something, he also hide his foot when his shoe came off a little while ago during beginning of the show as you can see him hide behind his other.. ;0) But this is me watching WAY too much Match Game and noticing things.. ;0) Also I think there are monitors that the audience can see to see what is going on because I am guessing the set/panel/host looked kind of small in person and then the cameras trying to get their shots blocking the view. But I don't know, never have gotten to go to a taping of any kind.. ;0) Also I believe Charles has mentioned it later on as a director he looks for the shot in the monitor and said it was a pretty shot.. ;0)
