Yeah, it seems to be a common attitude. It's a shame too because they really don't know what they're missing. Japanese metal, for instance, is so much better than any of the current western stuff (in my opinion).
I doubt it, English-speaking nations seem to want everyone to sing in English or they kinda get ignored. I don't mean everyone of course, just the guys in charge of entertainment.
