That was very, very cool of you to do, and a great job!! It would be a courteous thing if everyone who went to Volunteer Cabins, knowing what they are, would take something with them to leave, or add to the stock (a roll of toilet tissue, paper towels, a rug, a book, 1st aid\ Snake bite kit, tin cups, a wash bowl, indoor\outdoor folding chair, etc)... peace to you
@@watchr740 yep. Pretty neat concept. Do many Sarj has shown us but zero.lications to visit. Maybe I need to buy one of them books that give its location. U less there's a website?
RULE# 1 No sleeping on the Cabin roof. Thanks for making my day with your video. Maybe I don't know where this is , but, it makes me feel good knowing places like this exist. Feel much better about our species. You are great. I love your videos.I am a big fan of Huell Howser's California Gold, etc. I think you have found the places he missed and I bet he would have loved them. Keep on truckin and exploring. My Wife and I were wandering spirits before and after kids, 4 Corners region was our oasis from living in SoCal. 40 years of diabetes has kind of wrecked my feet lately so I haven't made any big road trips since 2011. Went with both of my two Sons, one at a time two Summers in a row and hit 26 States + DC Thanks again
I know so little about this part of our country. Seeing it through your eyes makes the desert much more beautiful than I ever expected. You have inspired me to RV from here in Fla. to the other side of the country and visit the desert in all of it's splendor.
Another nice video, you are correct that seeing the volunteer cabins restores one's faith in humanity. It was one of my first "pleasant surprises" after moving off the coast.
You and I love the same thing's so I am so glad you do this . Thank you. P.S. I hurt my leg at work and can no longer get around so well. If I could you and I would most likely bump in to each other from time to time . I use to do that a lot so now you do it for me . Peace
Keep it to yourself.!That's Cool!Fantastic Blue sky and That was a delight for me for sure.I wonder why it was wired for electricity? Fantastic video,Stay safe and safe travels.Ty73s
Hi Sarah Jane! Not sure if you're aware of what BLM is doing to these volunteer cabins. My daughter is like you & over the years has enjoyed using these cabins. She's stayed in many & also has helped fix them up. BUT...BLM is now tearing them down. They don't like them & couldn't care less that people stay in them & take care of them. We wish there was something we could do to stop BLM. Love your videos & I'd not watched this one. Keep up the good work! You're such a cool person & we love you!😎🏜
She won't be responsible for a volunteer cabin being destroyed. There are books out that give all the locations to the volunteer cabins in the Mojave! Buy one or go to the library and do your own research!
Shotgun? You? Cool! You still have your electric stick? I lived in El Paso in 1979. Worked as DJ atKLOZ 102 FM. Used Togo to NM and we walked the trails and stayed in old cabins in mountains. White sands and two day hiking trails.I’m almost 58 now... I was 18 then. What fun. Enjoy these days. Oh you didn’t get a shot gun? That saddens me.
Hey WH....! Another great video...! Such beautiful scenery...! I wish that you could share with us where these places are as I would love to go and stay at them sometime during my travels(whenever they get started), but I understand why you don’t... Too many Jerks out there who have or would spoil something like this...! It’s so sad as I was born during a time when people would never even have thought of doing something so stupid... Thanks for sharing this information with us. Have a great day and be blessed.
Nice cabins and we all hope they stay that way for others to enjoy thank you .Cjd wash state p.s. I've got a generator and expresso machine for a sunset on patio sunset ready to go .🤔
stellar video!!! we love your vids!!! you give us cool as hell "bucket list" shit to do!!! , p.s. wifey said "tell her to come to Cold Creek tomm" always a great time!!! Thanks for the vids
Creosote = a smell of home ♥♥♥ nothing beats the smell after a desert rain. I always clip bundles for my jeep when I am back in AZ or NV because it reminds me of the smell of home.
Thanks for not revealing the location, so many times I've found old cabins the people vandalize . And yes I know where you was as I've explored the Mojave for 40 years.
I can't imagine sleeping on the floor of one of these cabins. I would be dreaming of snakes all night long. Wherever there are mice there are snakes - Right?
He would not be a good person to have "investing" in these, or any other awesome, free, little volunteer cabins. He doesn't do good, just to do something nice, there is always an agenda is behind it. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing\skin.. Just sayin...
you don't have to give out the locatiion or identifying information, but you could read some of what the people said about the place!!! ty for the video
For the peanut butter. If you see the mousetraps behind it, there is a reason. Put the peanut butter on the trap. Mice will go to it like ducks to water. Very effective.
So, how can anybody stay there if you wont tell anyone where it is. Does one have to be in a club to be privy enough to see the cabin? I'll continue living the Outlaw way!
You keeping the name of the places you visit doesn't irritate me at all. I've been to most of them and I don't hand out directions or GPS locations. In the touristy places I may mention the name of the camp. That's about it.
I'm guessing the comments will be closed soon for 2 reasons. 1 - Location of cabin. 2 - Opinions on Soros. An evil man who wants a no borders world controlled by one government. Would be like living in a nightmare! No worries WH! Still love you and your amazing videos!
Made my day seeing a video of yours. Back in the east and midwest....if we had volunteer cabins , rape, sodomy, robbery and murder rates would rise in each state.
I guess it’s a big secret where them cabins are? Besides bordering the desert. Guess they are only for the locals to use. Outsiders are not welcomed. That’s the impression I’m getting
Even Joe Biden endorsed shotguns! Love desert. Hope California does not destroy place making area so-called Environmental Wilderness or National Monument ( no mining).
Thanks for the compliment. I was there years ago and did a lot of rock work on the place. Good to see it holding up so well.
Would love to find this cabin and maintain it. But nobody gives its location. Lol

@@bobtruck1594 If I lived in a nearby city\town near a volunteer cabin, I would go there once a month, or so, just to check on it, and maintenance it.

I know where this cabin is, and I'm giving it away right now! It's in the desert, just west of Dundalk Maryland!
That's funny, about 2200 miles west of you, right?

Remember the one you were going to stay in got back from a hike and others had moved on in? It turned ok I guess but it really worried me
I was at these cabins today and changed the clock in this particular one to read 4:20
So cool!
Apparently they have something similar in Alaska, but need to make a reservation.
Say Wholly cannoli.......it’s cute when u say that.

There are usually enough clues to find a place, even in the middle of nowhere.

“Rustic” is a fancy word for shit to describe some volunteer cabins I’m guessing.👍🇦🇺

I think they do , it's called West Virginia.
