I used to think Alex’s emotionless demeanour was just his shtick but now I’m convinced he is a delightful, exuberant person who runs to work to share his new passion with his football friends only to be continuously interrupted by Joe - who then delivers the crushing news that he doesn’t care. Leaving Alex the dejected husk of a man that we all know and love

Players like Seedorf, Edgar Davids, Kluivert, Overmars succeeded as youngsters under Van Gaal. Very few coaches trust youth as much as him.

It's a teacher rather than a 'manager', in the Dutch tradition of football coaching. When he took over Ajax it was in debt and had 10 million guilders (about 2.5 million Pound back then). A few years later when they beat AC Milan for a 3rd time to win the CL it was up to 25 million guilders, but still at least 6 times less than AC Milan. They couldn't afford matured players of that talent. So that's where the teacher comes in.
What Van Gaal teams do is punching above their weight massively. The Netherlands needs to because this is not a world class squad nor a golden generation. Three world class players, one or two that could become one, a few just a little below and a lot of mediocrity.
@@jc6087 Yes, could've mentioned Van Der Sar. Van Gaal gave him his opportunity. I think Bergkamp was pretty well established in the team before Van Gaal came along. Cruyff gave him the chance as far as I know. I don't think Van Gaal had anything to do with the Laudrup brothers either.
@@aasemahsan dont forget Thomas Müller, Van Gaal was the one who unlocked him and helped him turn into beast. Also Holger Badstuber who was one of most talented if not the most talented defender before Injuries hit him sadly

That’s kinda funny that Bijlow is pronounced like that because in Australia during the 80s and nineties we had a now defunct supermarket chain called Bi-Lo which is naturally a condensed spelling of buy low.
Maybe they're talking about Louis van Hall's Biç'lou whose a Dutsch international in a dimension where everyone's pronunciation of foreign names is impeccable.

@@niamh9500 I have watch most of our games under his managerial stint and slept during many parts of the games. But I think it was the beginning few matches and the ending 15-20 matches of his tenure when I saw some really exciting football being played by the team and him being promoter of young players I thought we could have improved a lot under him if the board got him the players he wanted instead of his 3rd or 4th choice players from the transfer market.
At this stage in his career he’s way more suited to international football. And this will probably be his last job

Guys I have never said this but I think it every time so I'm finally speaking up. The intro volume is too loud on every video. I know you want to say your bit about the athletic but it is too loud compared to the rest of the video, and it's significantly louder than other youtube videos so I always jump a little bit and turn down the volume, only to turn it back up again once the intro is over. It's a small adjustment but it would be easy to fix and greatly improve my, as well as hopefully others', viewing experience.

Nicely done, but one small error: van Gaal prefers 5-3-2, but hasn’t had the time to properly implement it in the short time he’s managing the Dutch sofar. He explained That in one of his press conferences.

Love the content. Can the audio be adjusted slightly to soften the piercing "s", it is like Herbert from Family Guy. The mic seems to really pick up Alex's subtle whistle on his "s". I don't know how you can solve that. Turn down the treble? Is that the right word? Is it just me? I don't know. I only provide love, sensitive ears and complaints, never solutions.
