the Metro Area and the population of the city are different figures. I'll do the ranking of cities by metro area and I know of course that Athens Metro Area is 3M.
If anybody wonders: There's a lot of migration from rural areas mainly to Sofia, to the point where soon some parts of Bulgaria will not have anybody living there. The birth-rate in Bulgaria is in the negatives, we are not growing in any shape or form, only degrading.
Birth rates as for 2023, which is the latest data, is the highest in EU and second in Europe, just before Georgia. But still is below the 2.3 needed for sustainable growth. The main problem, is actually death rate. Its the highest in Europe I think.
@@valentinchurkin only immigration can solve the problem. But even the countries that usually provided immigrants have low growth rate. Only India and Sub-Saharian Africa remains as a "poor" choice
it's not a Balkanic country, excepting the Dobrudja/Dobrogea region, and maybe according to some with Valachia/Muntenia region. Transilvania & Moldova are not in the Balkans. This is a ranking with cities from Balkan or mostly Balkan countries. I'll do another video about Extended Balkans with Romanian cities and European Turkyie in it. Spoiler alert: Istanbul will be on the first place :)
Tirana has more than 800k residents. To not say generally 1 million because city now is united with other municipalities because of growth. And Athens is 3.1M, Thessaloniki over 800k, Pristina almost 600k.
The official population of Athens is 3.1 million. Dont know what kind of stats are these. You need to get your numbers fixed.

Why did you put the Vojvodina cities under a different flag? Are they not a part of Serbia?
yes it is, it has the same color as the rest of Serbia & Kosovo. In the description I made the explanation.

@@ZootOfficial it's the same situation in most Balkan countries
@@Saulgud23 true, I just wanted to point out the population growth in Sofia isn't really a good sign.

@ I mean... death is gonna be a problem, when there arent new people being made.
So, Romania is no longer in the Balkans. Hmmm...

Novi Sad, Subotica, Maribor, Osijek and Vršac are not in the Balkans.
Heraklion also, but the countries are known to be Balkan.
@StatistikaInfo I live in Serbia, born in Niš and work in Novi Sad. Never considered Novi Sad as part of the Balkans.
