Allot of people say oh you’re a barista, not that serious. Not knowing, the customers are nuts, seriously. I’ve seen people go berserk over them not having soy milk, get berated for too much ice, being out of a certain syrup, mind you there is a guideline on how to make the drinks. And allot of cases, it’s all for the gram. I understand that there are other harder jobs, but customer service, especially with food or this case, Starbucks, it’s rough. And I’m just a custy!

I’ve been in customer service over 10 years, and the year before this one, I was done. Fuck the holidays especially, cause people are atrocious. I was assistant manager at an engraving store and let me just say, I was the fastest and most diligent there, and went above and beyond and customers were still truly appalling. Your comment couldn’t be more true, and I wouldn’t be sorry, at least you have the where with all, to even ask yourself, nobody does such things anymore! When I see customers yell at a worker I laugh at the customer asking them with a baby talk tone do they need to take a nap than all my friends would follow after. Like we be making fun of them especially Karen’s. One time we made a women cry it was funny but at least the employees had a laugh too. We basically humiliate them more. I and my friends work for stores like Starbucks Taco Bell McDonald’s you name it. I don’t drink Starbucks but my friend does we are always nice and patiently waiting for our drinks of course after the employee notice they apologize to us but we always say take your time no rush. We do get our drinks and they gave us each a free pastry. We know what it’s like to be busy.
Someone got my drink wrong a record four times recently. You know what I did?? Reordered it and just kept the other one for someone else. If you’re blessed enough to be on the customer side of a counter these days you should count yourself extremely lucky and be kind. I was on the other side most of my life and I will NEVER give someone a hard time even if they mess up. It’s a food order. I’m autistic and picky as hell but why should that be someone else’s problem? True, it’s not “hard” to get it right… once. But it’s impossible to get it right the thousands of times they do it a year so cut them a break. I try to be the customer I liked getting when it was me working in the service industry. Now I’m blessed to be hidden away in the dark from everyone where I thrive as I’m a vampire troll. Don’t shine the light at me or I’ll hiss and scramble away.
Ever since mobile orders...I went to Starbucks and did not see a line, so I figured my order would not take that long. And then people kept coming into pick up their mobile orders and it took quite a while for my order to be ready. So the next time, I ordered through the mobile app, and yes, my order was ready, no problem there. Then I checked my account and they had charged me twice for one order. I called them and they said some B.S. about how it will always double charge you, but after 24 hours, you will be reimbursed. TF. Never mind. Starbucks is not the only coffee shop. We have Dunkin Donuts, etc. I am not a coffee snob, so that helps.
I once saw a video of a man throwing a water cup with ice cubs onto a female worker and the ask for a refill and did the same thing. Let me know if you would throw hands at that man?
