@@TheVetUknever said it was cheap. It's $120 for the base 720p version and you have to pay the license if you want to get the full 1440p mode. A bit shitty in my view, but the next best thing (N64 Advanced v2 1440p) had cost $110 but hasn't been in stock for 2 years.
@@TheVetUk because they wanted to milk it for all it's worth... same as Krikzz... no one makes a product quite as good, although there are plenty of worse and far cheaper alternatives. I've decided to stick to my TW RGB mod + RAD2X cable as I also use that on my SNES and Gamecube, but planning to do the N64 Advanced V2 on an NTSC console from Japan. I'm on a sign up list on etsy for the next production run

Hey man, thanks for the review! I've just bought a 64HD kit yesterday. Could you please tell which features it has when it comes to interlaced 480i games, like Rogue Squadron, Turok 2, etc? I wanna know what deinterlacing it does, if it's BOB, or none, leaving combing artfacts. This info is nowhere to be found on the entire internet. Thanks man! Great review!
Hi These are the only specs listed Compatible with all N64 models and I found no reference to BOB being available it’s a lot less featured product than others but cheaper and available So hope this helps Cheers Supported Resolutions 1080i60 (1920×1080 interlaced) 720p60 (1280×720 progressive, Default Mode) 480p60 (720×480 progressive) 240p60 (144×240 progressive, use with component converter for PVM/CRT screens) Scaling Modes Integer 1:1 PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio) Full Screen non-Linear Non-integer linear scaling (Default scaling option) Overscan for All Scaling Modes VI Deblur Image Brightness Control 3 Pixel Filter modes 3 Scanline Modes (Simple and Hybrid) Settings saving

@@TheVetUk Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated. I'm suspecting that it handles any 480i game with no deinterlacing whatsoever, which is usually called as combing artfacts. It's really an annoying side effect of interlaced images. I do have an Ultra HDMI mod as well, which is amazing in image quality for progressive games, but it also leaves combing artfacts when 480i games are played. Unfortunately, pretty sure the 64HD is the same thing... or else they would have specified any deinterlacing method like BOB. Oh well... thank you so much!
I feel like pulling the trigger, my issue with the other mods isn’t even the money as in ( the original asking price) but the scarcity and the resellers. So I might as well just get this, maybe buy an M classic so it scales from 720p-4K/1440
I appreciate your point of view and this is a great topic of discussion with both sides having valid points of mod or not to mod. Hopefully we can all meet in the middle Cheers
Finally I get my N64 Modded with HDMI been after one for years 👍
Did you check out the PixelFX Retro Gem? Up to 1440P output but it costs more than the N64HD
@@iamdmc yes but I had already ordered the N64HD but I want to try the Retro Gem on the Dreamcast or the PS2 but it’s not cheap as you say

@@iamdmc I have no idea why they decided to sell the Retro Gem that way make no sense and everybody is pissed

WOw! An HDMI mod on a Nintendo 64 Vet? I never seen one before bro. This will be exciting to watch from you. 8^)

Cheers Anthony 👍

I had the same problem but really wanted a internal solution the M classic is an interesting extra option 👀
Hi. Nice video. Which monitor/tv was used in this video (make, model size etc) Thanks
It’s a pioneer plasma 46 inch I think
Can i have it bright as normal with scanlines when compensated with brightness filter?
Hi scan lines for me seem to dull the image slightly but you could adjust the brightness to compensate if you wish
@@TheVetUk i wonder if adjusting the n64hd settings for brightness could get it back to default brightness without scanlines, if you know what i mean?
Worth a try I should work I think
How does this compare to rad2xpro with rgb modded n64
I would say about the same not much in it if that’s your setup you would see little improvement only plus would be it’s internal 👍
I perfer leaving classic systems original. Modifications like that destroys their authenticity.
