- Commercials of the first computer I had, the ZX Spectrum (Originally a 48K + then a 128K +2 ) , upscaled to 1080p and 60fps! Dive into the nostalgia of the 80s and 90s with these timeless adverts that defined a generation of gamers. Commercials feature games and the ZX Spectrum featured in certain sales commercials.
Why Upscaled?
Using upscaling technology, I've enhanced the original footage to bring you a smoother and more detailed viewing experience.

Always remember running down stairs on xmas day, seeing the great big present in my corner , unwrapping it and there was a glorious ZX81 staring at me.
My mum heard zx and bought the wrong one.
Went into school and sum1 announced they got a ZX81 for xmas and he got so much abuse. I just kept quiet and dodged any questions. 😢
I never saw these adverts. Cos I was locked in me bedroom on me ZX Spectrum 48k with custom keyboard!!! geddin' there. brrrm brrrmm.
FIFTY QUID EXTRA for a Spectrum+, blimey
Yeah for what was mainly a new casing around the board but I think a couple of chips were different as well, I could be wrong on that but I'm sure I heard that somewhere
@@itsjohniley No it was just the keyboard and the addition of a reset switch. It might have been around the time they moved from issue 3/3b boards to the issue 4 board but functionally they are the same.
@@stevesretroloftThank you, I wasn't quite sure 👍
And now those kids are about 50 wondering what happened to their lovely tech, and wishing they could return to those exciting times.
@@jeffkingston67 And I'm one of them 😆
I'm nearly at the big 5-0. My friends mostly had Speccies although I had an MSX, it's still in the loft and worked OK last time I plugged it in. After learning Basic from typing in all those magazine game listings I went on to get a software engineering degree and have been writing code commercially for the last 30 odd years.
Nice one! I’m bout to turn 50 soon too, I went on to play a lot of games and have a rubbish job in retail :/
I'm 55 and found a decent Spectrum emulator online. Brilliant games even still.
