    Last few lines yours and Dr C V Raman's are really touching. So true, the country of highest number of Science Graduates heardly contributed much in recent past (last 4/5 decades). These are names equally respected to be honoured with Noble prize, Meghnath Saha, Shambhnath Dey, Prafullachandra Roy,
    Sayendranath Bose, Prasanto Mahalanabish, Jagadishchandra Bose, Subhas Mukherjee.....
    Please do make video on them as a series of great Indian subcontinent's scientific minds.
    All the very best.

I got in a dumb argument online because a guy said that the reason for the color of the sky was the Raman effect, and unfortunately i had never heard of CV Raman. This video answered every question i had, because i knew it was Rayleigh scattering or elastic scattering, but i had never heard of inelastic scattering or Raman spectrometry. Incredible man, fascinating topic!

    Problem with Indian science is that the pioneers of it like CV Raman etc are so reactionary and promote brahmanic worldview (He and Krishna were in close association with Saibaba ). He doesn't have a scientific temper (Oppose Nehre always) and always behaves like a temple priest. He was a misogynist so many female researchers lost the opportunity to do research. Your channel should have mentioned this also as a reason for degradation of science in India. Real Raman effect is the reactionary influence of him in Indian science progress.

      this is true. the unfortunate truth is that due to rampant caste barriers only the upper caste were allowed to gain education and make contributions towards science (even with this, most of the scientists had quite backward thoughts- most of them believed in the idea of caste). we may have made advancements in science and math, but our scientific temper is still stagnant as ever.

    Dr. Sir C. V. Raman is not the only one who received Nobel prize in science. There were two Nobel laureates from India who received their Nobel prizes before India gained independence. The first laureate was Dr. Sir Ronald Ross, who discovered the malarial parasite. He was born in British-ruled India and conducted his research in Calcutta, Secunderabad, and Bangalore. Consequently, India earned its first Nobel prize in science in 1902. The second Nobel prize in science was awarded to Dr. Sir C. V. Raman in 1930, for his work on the Raman effect. Like Dr. Ronald Ross, Dr. Raman was also born in India and conducted his entire research in the country. Both Nobel prizes were awarded to individuals from what was then known as British India.
    Since India gained independence, no one from the country has received a Nobel prize in science. However, there have been Nobel laureates of Indian origin who conducted their scientific research mainly in foreign countries, particularly the United States. As a result, their awards were dedicated to the countries they migrated to. In essence, Dr. Sir Ronald Ross remains the first Nobel laureate in science from India.

      Ok;
      To be honest i feel electrodynamics is still incomplete;
      so there is no established answer for (1) yet ,but there is for (2) ie : since charge by definition has electric field coming out or in; when it is accelerated, it creates an accelerated (changing)electric field around charge. Now as we know from maxwell laws that changing electric field creates changing magnetic field , a magnetic field is created; now heres the catch: varying electric field and magnetic field are capable of producing each other so they self sustain and start propagating(considering no loss of energy) which we see as E.M radiation.
      Now for the first one i am actually a researcher and developing a "scientific and mathematical" theory to explain some things; so no answer till then...

    3. If yes to 2nd question why do we consider blue stars massive and red stars low mass?
    4. Lets say if our sun is replaced by a very massive star that is blue in hertzsprung russel diagram. Then if we would look at it from EARTH will it appear blue or yellow or white??

      1. It'll be very bright. If you look for too long, it'll burn your retina. Also the sky will be black.
      2. Not all. Red and blue stars (like Rigel, betelguese etc. ) Exist .
      3. Mass doesn't have anything to do with colour. Colour is determined by how much energy comes out of a star. There are red and blue coloured massive stars.
      4. I'm not sure, but I'm assuming it won't look yellow since it's light spectrum is mostly blue. Also I think the sky will look even more darker blue. Also sunsets with this star will not look orange for sure :)

    youre seriously rgt abt the money thing dude...i had recently asked my friend what she wanted to pick after 10th...she said science but i knew she was a bit laggy regarding the subject...and when i asked her abt it she just went like " if i pick science and become doctor my future will be set with no problems"......it was kind of heartbreaking to hear that all in the tone she said it...

    You were explaining Raman effect in great way, then suddenly you mess up with explaination. Nobody is perfect in this world. It was fairly good attempt for a first time seeker.

    The only scientific work of India to win a Nobel prize? It is absolutely not true. Nobel is a joke...if it was serious then JC BOSE, Satyandranath Bose, H.J Bhabha etc deserved nobel also.
