At the beginning of my hobby I used the stock Juwel heater in the filter. Almost every year I needed to buy a new one because of many issues: broken cable, always on heating, no heating... When I bought a Jäger from Eheim and placed it freely in the tank, all my issues disappeared. Now I have it at least 8 years still going strong :D The only issue I have is water condensation inside the heater, but is understandable after so much time.
I've use Jager heaters for over 26 years without a single failure except receiving one dead out of the box. My next purchase will be the Thermocontrol-E. I like all the new features.
Same here, I never had any issue with them. I broke I think 2 in more than a decades, but it was because it was out of the water, so that feature already been useful for me :P. I'm thinking to replace ALL my aquarium heater with this one.
Hi! Thank you so much for making the review! I ended up getting the Thermocontrol. I have a question that's been concerning me. When I was doing water changes, I accidentally left the water below the "minimum waterlevel" line for a few hours, but the glass tube was still fully submerged. Is this ok? Only 1/4th of an inch was exposed to the air, so I'm not sure if that was enough to trigger dry-running protection. Should my heater still be fine? I'm worried of any potential problems like residue or cracks. Thank you for your time!
Sir it says also that the jager has"With automatic dry run shut-off (Thermo Safety Control)" feature so did it realy exploded or the glass breaked on your jagers after exposure to air
@@AquaSplendor I searched for videos on testing the jager on situations of sudden aquarium leaks to fully drain of the tank water if the product lives up to its promise but sadly I found none

Great comparison! However bad tip on buying the higher watt heater of the same price. You want the appropriate watt heater for your tank, which is why they make different wattages! Oversized wattage can heat up your tank faster and cook your aquarium. In instances of heater malfunction, correct sizing have less chance of doing so because it takes longer to add heat-ideally one should get the lowest watt needed to heat the tank to desire temp. Moreover, appropriate watt heaters will last longer because it is not constantly turning on and off!-reason for heater failure according to Corey from aquarium coop.
