Both would be valuable. The US is the biggest market by far so it'll likely be easier to find a job there after your masters. The Austalian market is relatively small but growing I believe.

I can say as a Quant Researcher my base is 114k and the bonus, well it depends on the team performance but it doesnt ever exceed 100% of your salary
