    The result seemed really good, but I am wondering how the plastic cylinder did. Was there any damage to the inside of the can, and would it be practical to use a metal can?

      Damage to the inside of the plastic appears minimal you can still clearly see the lines from the printing on the inside and it's been ran for at least 48 hours continuously.
      A metal can could also easily work the question would be how to add the axles onto either side so it can turn.

      @@infernalcontraptions8648 I bet 3D printed end caps would work great on a standard tin can. Obviously there is no need to fix what isn't broken though. Good to see your project worked!

      Had a look through my files and managed to find them. (you may have to come up with a new way of mounting the motor as the one I used was one I had lying around from a old toy)
