It’s not Caro Kann if opponent doesn’t go e4… it can transpose if they play e4 on move 2.. but you are not in a Caro Kann if they play something aside from e4 in the first 2 moves
@@abshirb1 yeah the caro kann is referring to the specific structure where c6 supports d5 as d5 is challenging the e4 pawn. You can play a caro-like structure against other things but it is no longer caro and the ideas behind the caro no longer apply
