It’s not about status. People who can spend 2k on a shoe can spend 2k on a shoe. It would dumb for me because I can’t spend 2k on a shoe but if you have the money then what does it matter. Also, spending money on fakes ruins the industry. Also, sneaker heads want the real deal... the real shoe. You want the product you are paying for. It has nothing to do with status for many of us, I would say the majority of us. It’s a lifestyle and a love for the hobby. I have never once bought a shoe and thought, “man, people are gonna know I’m better for any reason because of this sneaker” or anything related to this idea. I wear them for me. Yea, it’s cool when other people give you s nod or when another sneakerhead comes up to you and you talk about sneakers for a minute but I collect and wear these for me, nobody else

Question isn’t about price at this point if we’re talking about them selling out fast and now having to pay high resell prices . What we would want is more pairs to be made to not have such high prices, but I think as we can see now no matter how many pairs they make can still be hard to get your hands on em regardless for retail but at resell not as crazy as some off whites.

What they can do is claim that they are fake and replicate the bred but with a slightly different shade of red that way it looks like a knockoff but ironically it is created by Jordan brand. They would probably call it the air Jordan 1 fake. Instead of having the Nike Air on the tongue, they can write Nike Air but with but with Air written upside down.

Ugly Truth nobody wants to admit:
The reason there's a market for fake sneakers. Is because these companies limit them so they can drive up hype. I would much rather a young kid who doesn't have all that much money to begin with spend $60 on a pair of fakes than $2,000 on the real thing. If it wasn't for them limiting these pairs and everyone could buy them for retail we wouldn't have this problem, if you want to call it a problem. And if you only like shoes that are hype then you really are just chasing status and have no real appreciation for the shoe. If you actually appreciated the sneaker you would want everyone to be able to have a pair. Hypebeasts like Hes are a big part of this problem. And then people have like him front and say "wear were you like" all the while knowing he wouldn't wear what he likes because he don't know what he likes he only likes what type. If wear what you like was true people wouldn't care if everyone else was wearing what they like. And they also wouldn't care if they were the only one wearing that sneaker and they would buy shoes that aren't hype. When have you seen any of these guys review a shoe that isn't hype?
I personally will always only wear what I like. And I will not care who wears what I wear or doesn't wear what I wear. A lot of the time I like the shoes that everyone else hates.

At a certain point there's no reason to buy the original. ESPECIALLY if you care about authenticity. If you do a little research you can get the best replica there is. But if you order an "authentic one" from StockX, there's a >50% chance you will get a replica, and probably a crappier one than if you had looked for a rep yourself.

recently i bought a pair v2 350 breds for 66 cad, paid 22 cad for shipping, the boost is actually softer than actual boost (for some reason), the rubber outsole was not good quality cuz after a few days of wearing the heel was tearing down for a bit. Honestly wasn't too bad, me and my friends tried to spot out the fake parts, we couldn't do it at first glance, but as we looked closer, the stitching was kinda messed up, and the boost was not as curved as the real pair. Just to put this out there, shamelessly, those are comfy af lol im sorry
