- Calculator technique for evaluating Limits ( Differential Calculus) using Casio 991 es/570 es.
To evaluate a limit as x approaches a certain value "a", substitute a number to "a" that is very close to "a".
For example: x approaches 1, let x= 0.99999 or 1.0001 ; x approaches 2, let x=1.9999 or 2.0001; x approaches 0, let x=0.0001; x approaches infinity, let x= 999999
IMPORTANT: Set the calculator to radian mode (Shift-Mode-Rad) for limits involving trigonometric functions.

If you're wondering why it's not working for you, remember to put the calculator on Radian mode. Calculus is done on radian mode.

@@awitlods3421Through "SETUP" you can access it by pressing (shift, mode) then choosing the number for your needs which is probably 4) rad

guys if youre getting weird numbers just use 0.0000000000 for example x is approaching 3, put it 2.9999999999. if x approaching 7 then 6.9999999999 so on

If the numerator and denominator have the same degree of polynomial you can just ignore the other terms and divide the coefficient of the highest degree

yeah good old l hospital's rule
if the biggest power of the nominator is bigger than that of denominator , the answer is infinity and if it's smaller then the answer is zero . And all of these only apply when x tends to infinity

I don't get it why're you getting random numbers on pressing equal button? and on what basis did you enter the numbers after getting strange result and got accurate ones?

a limit when x goes to infinity...
Means what will the function reach if x goes to a heighest value which is infinity...so you have to place x with a big number like "10000000"
No matter what number you use ..just a big one....the you will find a number...if it was so big the tha answer is infinity...otherwise 0....or 1/2............
U have to understand what a limit means in order to make some tricks....

I tried doing it for 5^(x+1)+ 7^(x+1) /(5^x-7^x) where the limit is infinity but calculator shows error. Why? (I did set it to radian mode)

I think the calculator po is being set as RAD coz I tried with mine Canon... It gives me an answer of 0 with deg, and 1/2 when in RAD...

Hi! If the limit is approaching infinity put a very large number like 99999. If the limit is approaching 1, just put a number closest to 1 like 0.99999. Same goes for other values, just input or substitute a "closest" value. Hope this helps!

you chose a number close to the one in the lim. near infinity:99999,near 1:0.99999,etc

It's better to study the right way first and master it then use a calculator. Just like kids learn addition and subtraction . Also you can find the derivative to solve it faster

sec is 1/cos, csc is 1/sin, cot is 1/tan
Just use those
It will take you 2hrs to learn limit and then you can solve these questions faster than the calculator.

But these are basic limits it can be solved in mind without touching the pen in fraction of seconds

We first look up to the limit if limit is approaching infinity then we take a big number like 9999999999,nearly equal to it,and if the limit in approaching 1 we take a number 0.9999999 nearly equal to 1, and if limit approaching 0 then we take 0.0001

i think you put the -2x+9 in the same row with ^3. ah i can't show you here
Just make sure you press the shift down button so that the negative (-) sign is not in the same line with x^3
