A quick look around the resort, travelled in April 2023 & had a fantastic time! Beach was better than expected, weather was good, food was decent. Hard to complain!
I was there in April 2023 as well. It was a great resort and nice beach. One key reason we chose Puerto Plata was we wanted a north shore not in the current of the sargassum we experienced while on another trip to Punta Cana, which is on the eastern side. A concierge told us this is the oldest resort in Puerto Plata. It does show it's age, but with grace. The resort was great, the staff fantastic, and the Good Friday seafood feast and all the food every day for that matter was great as well. Would love to go back. Thanks for bringing back the nice memories.
Had a blast over there last week. Wish I could have stayed longer. I didn't care much for the rooms but loved the excursions at Puerto Plata and the beach and pool. The staff were so friendly and welcoming
Thanks! Honestly it's 3rd out of 3, but it's cheaper than PC and the food is wayyy better than Cuba, but we still spent about 6 hours a day in the water, so all & all a good trade off. Waiting for Cuba to get better as their beaches are #1, but sadly, I think we'll be waiting for a long time. Cheers 🍻
It's not a deal breaker for us, we're up early & get sun & sand & libations all day & by 9:00 our old asses are ready to call it a day & do it all again tomorrow!! Cheers..🍻🍻🍻🍻
Others might have had success, but we didn't bring any gear & never tried. We're spoiled buy some other resorts/locations so unless the water is really clear we save snorkeling for another trip. Thanks for watching!! 🍻🍻
It does in spots for sure, it's all about your expectations. Some people are put off by old fixtures and furniture, but if you can get past that it's a solid 3.5 star, at least our room and our particular week. And it was cheap compared to other areas, and the flight times out of Halifax NS were great. Many things to consider when planning a trip, everyone's needs are slightly different. Cheers, 🍻

Was there in February. Decent place, nightly entertainment was not good.
