While Remus is a werewolf, Sirius is actually an Animagus which enables him to turn into a dog. Another example is Professor McGonagall (lady that turns into a cat). Hermione talks about it at 9:32
@@thebadasstimes Sirius is more than a dog actually, he's a GRIM, the sort they were mentioning in the movie. They don't show it in the movie but a Grim is SUPPOSED TO BE the size of a bear and their legend is if you see one, you die. According to a wiki on the Magic World's Grim-The Grim appears to be based on the Black Shuck of English folklore, or the Cù Sìth of Scottish mythology, black dogs which also signal death. The Grim may also be based on the Barghest, a large black dog in English legend. They don't tell you in the movie but Sirius, Peter and Harry's father James became Animagus (able to become animals) so they could be with Remus during a full moon and made the transformations easier on him. Peter-a rat, Sirius-a Grim, and James-a Red Stag. You don't CHOOSE your form, it's essentially your spirit animal. Sirius is a Grim, one-because he is from a Dark family and the influence they had over him (as well as it being dark times because of the war with Voldermort) Also he's been often described as dog-like in behavior, Peter because-obviously he's a cowardly little traitor and James-despite his bullying others when he was a teen, grew up to be a strong and noble man, just like we associate a strong and noble stag when we see one.
@@thebadasstimes Also the reason Harry has to stay with his relatives is when his mother died it activate "blood wards" around the house. So as long as Harry stays there, where Lilly Potter's last living relative (her sister Petunia) lives, Harry is protected in case any Deatheater should locate him and try to kill him. And BTW, "Aunt Marge" is Vernon's sister, so not related to Harry except by "marriage" as his aunt is married to Vernon. Also explains the....unpleasantness doesn't it?
One of the most mind-blowing twists for me as a kid reading the book. Ron's rat Scabbers was actually a servant of Voldemort and the man who got Harry's parents killed, THE WHOLE TIME!
The Badass Times Scabbers has maybe 5 minutes of total screen time across all the films before the reveal. In the books he’s in a lot of parts, especially in POA, where he’s basically the focus of the B plot, where Hermione’s cat is thought to have killed him.
It was really cool realizing that the warewolf teacher was teased when the bogget showed that his fear is the moon. Just 1 of the smart details in this movie. Try to remember everything u see, for clues/hints.
The premise won't change, every book and movie tell a story during a different school year. That's why you see the characters grow up. The story changes, but the premise doesn't -> summer vacation in the beginning, rest of the year in school.
Remus lupin has always been my favourite character. So excited for you to react to the rest of the series :) the movies get better and darker from here
this might help :) - Harry has to live with the durlseys because they’re his last relatives, but i think it’s more explained in the fifth movie - yes, wizards often have to remove a part of a muggles memories when he witnessed something that has to do with magic, so their world stays secret - a boggart is a creature that transforms itself into the biggest fear of the person in front of it. so for example harry’s boggart is a dementor, so it’s not a 100% real dementor but it looks and works like one to scare its victims. - the movies sadly left out that plot, but the marauders map was invented by harrys dad james, sirius, remus and peter. they were in school together, became friends and when they found out that remus got the werewolf disease, they started a really long and complicated process to become animagi so that they could go with remus when he transforms himself. james was a stag (prongs), sirius a big dog (padfoot), peter a rat (wormtail) and remus as a werewolf (moony) the next movie is sadly one of the bad ones in my opinion, because the director (who thank god only directed the forth one) left out and changed SO many things from the books and the story, but that part is very important for the series- so i’m looking forward to your reaction!

@Richard Carrie first time watching my friend. I was mainly commenting on the abusive nature of his relatives. Which should not be tolerated. They should have been reported to authorities, in the first film.
a thing the film does a poor job explaining is that James, Sirius, Remus and Peter are the Marauders. all of them nicknamed based on their transformations, James is Prongs and was a stag (something that made Harry see the stag patronus as his father), Sirius is Padfoot and transforms into a dog, Remus is Moony, and Peter is wormtail. These are the 4 that made the Map
Badass. I'm really digging all this cool intel from everyone in the comments. Thanks friend. Also, thanks you for watching, commenting, and Subscribing to my new channel. Means a lot. So much.
Great reaction! This is such a great movie, the tone is certainly changing, getting mature with the characters as they grow up and darker as the story evolves. You ask some really fantastic questions and most things will be explained as time goes on but a lot of detail comes from the books. Its hard to play favorites with the Harry Potters but I think you may really enjoy the next one, things really are changing!
The movies (and books) follow the same basic pattern because each one begins during the summer holidays and lasts until the school year is finished next summer. Each book/movie corresponds to one of Harry's school years. 7 years, 7 books, 8 movies because they split the last one into two parts. So the premise is pretty much the same each time. However, the story will definitely expand and grow darker than what you've seen until now, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

You can't change the past. It's a loop. Buckbeak never died to begin with. I love this version of time travel. At most it's a glorified cloning device. The future already exists. The action of your future self time traveling has already happened. Either they failed or never attempted to change anything. That, or they were the very cause of what happened to begin with. Like the stone thrown through the window.
Knew it was Gary oldman as soon as you saw him dam the make up had me confused the whole movie tbh but I was like 4th grade but I knew Gary old man then cause he was in a lot of movies I like such as 5th element and lost in space
Awesome reaction man. This MIGHT be the best movie. I also like the last 4. Half blood prince has really good cinematography. If you can, you should watch the movie Gravity which is also directed by Alfonso Cuaron
The next movie , 'The Goblet of Fire' is AMAZING! It's my favorite book on the series and the movie adaptation is pretty good for the amount of content the/every book has. The series begins to get dark in the Prizoner of Azkaban and only gets darker as you move along. I'd say that, 'Order of the Phoenix' and 'Halfblood Prince' are the darkest, for me. 'The Half Blood Prince' and People hear this all the time but the book is better than the movie. In my humble opinion, all of the books are better than all the movies in the HP series.

Don't really agree with you on the the movie being the exact same as the first ones... the plot is pretty different from the first two even from the beginning... but I guess that's your opinion.
True. Not exactly the same, but the basic story telling elements. Still enjoyed them. I can't wait for the rest my friend. Thanks for watching and commenting friend.
@@thebadasstimes No spoilers but JK Rowling wrote the books that way on purpose. She keeps the format the same for almost every book so that you build up these expectations, just to knock it all down in the last few books and keep you on your toes. It's honestly genius the way she misguides the reader/viewer. I can't wait to see what you think!
@@kevinarechavala9734 cool, thank you all for being so passionate. I see this community is growing and I look forward to big discussions down the road when it comes to film and television discussions.
The best Harry Potter movie by far, I own around 4000 movies, and this is the only one in this series I own. Great movie.
Sick!!
Hey man When do you think the next vid will be ? 😎
Early this week. Got a little behind this week. With work and personal stuff. But soon though my friend. Very soon.
Cool, thanks man. Awesome, I'll check it out.
14:50 they can’t make one of his teachers bad again
Us Potterheads (Harry Potter fans) lol just wait and see. no spoilers just wait and see.
Awesome. Very cool insight. Thanks for watching and commenting my new friend.
Someone did't pay attention in class.. xD
Lol. True.
Can’t wait for you to watch goblet of Fire
Me too. Very excited. Thanks again friend. For watching, liking, commenting, and Subscribing.
Ah the Prisoner of Azkaban!!
Yes indeed friend.
Great movie
Yes it is.
'The Half Blood Prince' and
People hear this all the time but the book is better than the movie. In my humble opinion, all of the books are better than all the movies in the HP series.
Cool, I can't wait. Thank you for watching, commenting, and Subscribing.
I hope you check out Novelpro Junkie and watch my top ten trailer/teaser of Harry Potter. Do you agree with the list or not. I can't wait to read your comment: novelpro.weebly.com/latest-news/top-ten-harry-potter-trailersteaser-according-to-me#comments
the best one if you ask me
Nice, it was fun.
Cool 👍
Thanks friend.
The next movie has too much drama
I'm ready!!
don’t hate on my boy draco
Lol, I have no choice my friend. He is pure evil.
How the fuck is this your first time watching Harry Potter? My god.
Crazy right!! Lol
Don’t hate Draco you saw his father last movie hate him
I'll hate hate both, unless Draco rises above the transgressions of his father.
The Badass Times fair enough
@@thebadasstimes Draco is the product of his father, he act as he was raised, taught and saw (learn by example). His father spoiled him rotten, drilled their beliefs into his head and the 'glory' of the dark families, 'Pure Blood' and following Voldermort. so of course he's learned to believe that what he has been taught is what is right. The following movies shows you the way Draco learns OUTSIDE his father's mandate and maybe everything he knows isn't so black and white.
@@fireidar ver true. Nice thought my friend.
@@fireidar Cool and interesting my new friend. I'm very excited to see where his journey ends. The next Harry Potter Reaction is on the way!! Stay tuned!!
Well, maybe if you didn't talk literally *all the time* you wouldn't be so confused by the things that had just been explained.
Lmao.
