His idea of physical torture as a path to spiritual reawakening is a total failure because the painful experience he put on people won't likely make their perception on life somehow better. Rather it opposite. Just look at this guy who lost his eyes. It's cruel, because after this his life (though fictional) would be less than it was simply because he unlikely find any decent job or will enjoy the way the world is everyday. John Kramer is a charismatic person but he is also crazy and manipulative with the very distorted understanding of morals. He make all of this for sake of cherishing one's life but he himself doesn't resemble a happy person at all. In fact, he is selfish sadist since he lived his last years of life torturing people instead of cherishing the time he was given. Yes, sometimes the traps that Jigsaw built literally punished bad people. But anyway, John Kramer is not the one who can judge other people because he himself lacks lots of puzzles in his soul.

It's actually very true for anybody that karma comes back to each of us... although not perfectly exactly what we put out to the world...
