Oh god, these so-called environmentalists are such a cry baby, too much preaching and moralistic views, not much profound insight in his talk. We, as a human, still are in the process of learning. We should live dangerously and should experience life in stressful and dangerous situations, and we should build towns, cities, habitats in unsafe places: on mountains, under the sea, in space. We survived so far, not because of paying respect to nature, but because we learned the skills of surviving in extreme situations. Nature is a brutal presence, but the basis of our life too and humans should make all possible endeavors to overcome its tyranny. Even at the cost of putting our life at risk, even if we damage anything and disappear due to our wrong actions. There are various otherwise countless reasons which can make us extinct for e.g. our evolutionary nature or any outer space event or event similar to the Toba volcano catastrophe which reduced the human population to just around 3000. Nature doesn't care about us, nature itself is a product of bigger cosmic events.
