prosperity gospel stuff is so weird to me considering it's the opposite of what Jesus taught. Americans are really so brainwashed by capitalism that corrupt church leaders made Christianity capitalist and hardly anyone noticed :(
@Mischа Rомо I think the worst part is that it's not just in America. I was born and bred in an African country and its just as bad. It's easy to trick people into the prosperity gospel when they're desperate for the basics. But at the end of the day, the truth remains the same. Christ never came to start a 'Get Rich Quick' scheme.

But again it's very personal so no pressure at all. 😊
Oh my god 🤣 as a religious The Real viewer (pun intended), seeing you review this movie is hilarious, knowing Adrienne mentioned it so many times on the show
Don't save him. He don't wanna be saved, Sis. Stop raising your man like he your son. Your boyfriendson or husbandson is not a good investment. These dudes want you to accept less and struggle, girl, you can do bad all by yourself, honey. No codependent relationships in the 21st century. This movie was the ultimate buffoonery. Ja Rule solidified his fall in the game with this, at least Adrienne recovered.🥴
Kennie, I would love to chat with you more about your upbringing. Whenever you mention it, it's such a tease for me, as an excommunicated homeschooled Mormon survivor. Another great video as usual. I love that you took a second to talk about that hero complex bit of Christian relationship. SOOOOOO much pressure in those relationship! Don't settle for less than reciprocity. - Hannah
Fun fact about this movie is the pastor who owned the Lambo…that’s who’s the movie is based on. He’s also wrote this movie and produce the movie. Also one of the reasons why Adrienne was in this movies because her husband is one of the producers as well.
My running theory as to why Christian movies are so technically bad is because they don't need to be daring. All they have to do is get a trite, pre-packaged message across to a captive audience and this idea doesn't attract many skilled film makers. They'd want more out of a project, I'm sure. (Also see: Christian pop and rock music)
I thought I was self aware until you said “religious girls are taught to be fixers of men” and GODDAMN that hit home. And I’m willing to bet we were rolling our eyes at the same parts
With the mention of how Christian women feel it’s their job to “save” their terrible partners, I feel like the movie War Room would make you flip a table.
I watched this when I was younger but I don’t remember much, would you be willing to tell me what you mean by this? I could find a trailer or synopsis but I love hearing people describe films, and especially their bad points, in their own words.
@Gune Umbird Basically, the woman has a cheating husband, and everyone around her is telling her that its HER job to fix her marriage by praying more and being a better Christian instead of confronting him
My mother is a Christian and loves that movie. And at that time, she had a shitty husband. I guess to couldn’t pray away the dysfunction of a man that had a rough life. So they are now separated
I can remember accidentally stumbling onto this masterpiece and finding out that the person that the movie is based on is the rich guy with the Ferrari (don’t come for me if I’m wrong; aka the pastor). This is the most chaotic movie I’ve ever seen so enjoy👍🏽. Correction: Lamborghini not Ferrari.

I am a devout Christian, but imma give my 2 cents. 1. I am not anybody's saviour, if he wants to know God that's his choice 2. Prosperity gospel is the bane of my existence, my money doesn't mean happiness. Neither does the bible preach prosperity, it says the disciples were to take nothing with them except the clothes on their backs. 3. I'm not staying with a man because his dying mama said God sent me to stay with him. Imma pray and find that out myself. 4. The saviour complex dating is actually such a big problem... Can't say I'm innocent, but I know damn well I can't and shouldn't try to save men... Their problems are theirs to fix. I can help, but it's not my baggage to carry. Anyways, thanks for reading...
Okay, my Lexapro's been kicked in for a while now, and I'm here to tell you that if some guy got pulled over for reckless driving because he tried to follow me in traffic, and felt it okay to *tell me that* like it was cute, I would think him the dumbest man in the world.
There was a time when I loved the "I can fix him" trope and maybe the church had something to do with it but no no no. Even fictional bad boys can be scary af.
I wanted to recommend Pumpkin, with Christina Ricci. She plays a sorority girl who develops romantic feelings for a mentally-challenged man. Not sure if it is a bad movie or a good one, but I will let you be the judge. Thank you for your videos and the awesome entertainment!
It's based off a true story but everyone was an upper middle class (going on upper class) white "republican-ish" person. In case you were wondering how they got off easy comparable to their friends. And he's now one of those rich white people who aggressively declares themselves Italian American thus possibly not white.
As a Christian who actually enjoys the cheesy Christian/Hallmark romance movies, this movie just makes me cringe every time I hear about it. Also, as someone who has seen this movie, I can confirm that, like Kendall said, the only amusing part about it is that Ja Rule's real name is Jeff. 🤣😅
Religious trauma and pureflix are a match made in hell- you do you and you know your limits better than anyone, I just wanna be sure you don’t feel pressured to make content that actively harms you in the process ❤❤❤❤ Thank you for this video, the film was trash and I’m so sorry it brought up painful stuff, you were hilarious and stunning as always ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Naaah the cop face thing makes so much sense! There’s a woman in TV land who ONLY plays lawyers and she has a lawyer face. And the medical director of Chicago pd - the actress played head of the police force in law and order (I think?) for ages. She is a person of authority and I’ll never see her the same. So I get it!
As someone with religious trauma, I'd be very interested if you were to do another video focusing on that. Maybe even incorporate it to a Bad Movies and a Beat, maybe watch Facing the Giants or something.
Nothing like finding love in a vintage band at an early age. 8 years old is just perfect and then that music lives in a core place the rest of your life. It was Michael Jackson for me.

I also refuse to date club promoters…..and military men….and ministers :) no one I’d have to share and bear distance from.)
i think the problem is that they're so steeped in their propoganda they dont realize just how wacky this story sounds to anyone else. what cop is gonna stop investigating someone just cuz they claim to be reformed? you're still gonna serve this sentence!
I would LOVE to see you take on more of these Christ-sploitation films just cuz they are so hateful & hypocritical that they deserve to be torn a dozen new ones, however if they're too triggering for you I totally understand & respect if you don't. Much love to you & yours.
Gurl as someone with a lot of religious trauma(dad's a preacher, grew up in a religious household and now is agnostic much to my family's dismay, even to those who aint even christian) I couldn't bring myself to watch this movie. 2013, was when I was 15, around the time I left the church for good and started studying religion from an atheistic and historian point of view. I just didn't like any religious material that wasn't filtered thru an academic or comedic lense. Now as an adult I feel more comfortable in my agnosticism, I can step into a church without feeling like I'm going to crawl out of my skin.

prosperity gospel stuff is so weird to me considering it's the opposite of what Jesus taught.
@@zuvarashe900 that's very disheartening :( I didn't realize it was so big all over the world! You are right, that the message hasn't changed...I love that last sentence ❤🔥
I'm a Christian and I hate prosperity gospel so much.
Girl, I would never want to impose and overstep the boundaries of the parasocial confies of youtube. But I would love to hear more about your church experiences and what growing up Christian was like for you. I always find hearing the stories of others in that regard fascinating. But again it's very personal so no pressure at all. 😊
Oh my god 🤣 as a religious The Real viewer (pun intended), seeing you review this movie is hilarious, knowing Adrienne mentioned it so many times on the show
😂😂😂
Please, in which way has she mentioned this movie?
@@Goblin_goblet if i recall correctly, she met her now husband on the set of this movie, he worked on the soundtrack
@@Goblin_goblet she has mentioned it a few times. I know in one segment they were going over movies that she has been in and this was brought up
kennie’s random singing interludes always make my day
Don't save him.
- Hannah
Oh hi. Homeschooled ex Mormon here too!
@@cbshamy3722 hi! Congrats on making it out, it's a tough ride. I'm here if you'd like to chat about your journey
Fun fact about this movie is the pastor who owned the Lambo…that’s who’s the movie is based on. He’s also wrote this movie and produce the movie. Also one of the reasons why Adrienne was in this movies because her husband is one of the producers as well.
She was not with her husband then tho, I believe he was still married to his now ex wife
These games with the wild ass storyline could be a Tubi movie in itself 😂😂😂
22:54 Click here to see Kennie step into her Beyoncé era 😂
check out her album on spotify
Hilarious 😂
My running theory as to why Christian movies are so technically bad is because they don't need to be daring. All they have to do is get a trite, pre-packaged message across to a captive audience and this idea doesn't attract many skilled film makers. They'd want more out of a project, I'm sure. (Also see: Christian pop and rock music)
Refresh gang!
That Baldwin joke should have never sent me into tears as quick as it did
I'm cracking up because they didn't even really date... Like, she encouraged him to come to church and he came and that was kinda it.
😂😂😂
“I want a church girl that goes to church AND READ HaR BaiBlE” 💀
😆😆😆😆 Not Kennie singing the whole Gap Band discography! I'm here for it!
That was it.
"I don't know where it says in the Bible that you can't make a good movie though " 😅😅
I thought I was self aware until you said “religious girls are taught to be fixers of men” and GODDAMN that hit home. And I’m willing to bet we were rolling our eyes at the same parts
The GAP Band music break was high quality entertainment 😆
@@queencleopatra007 oh yeah that’s messed up. Geez I don’t remember that at all
I can remember accidentally stumbling onto this masterpiece and finding out that the person that the movie is based on is the rich guy with the Ferrari (don’t come for me if I’m wrong; aka the pastor). This is the most chaotic movie I’ve ever seen so enjoy👍🏽.
Correction: Lamborghini not Ferrari.
I knew this movie was garbage from the title but I am happy to see Kennie trash this movie 😆
Edit: I will ALSO be watching Cocain Bear 🐻
Lol cocaine bear I saw the trailer it made me laugh
😂🤣🥳
The Gap Band break was HILARIOUS because girl SAME! 😂
Kennie got me pulling up Charlie Wilson and Gap Band on my Apple Music and Spotify 🙌🏾
As someone who has been on Lexapro for years, I promise you it will not alter your judgement to the point where you find reckless driving "cute".
he's smart, he's rich ,he's good looking..supposedly a cop describing Jarule🤭🥳🤣whoever wrote this movie script deserves 50 lashes & I dont mean on the eyes🤦🏽♀️😵💫
Kennie, when we were out to dinner tonight, my dad was like “You ever heard of The Gap Band?” And I burst out singing “Burn Rubber On Me” because of this video. Thank you for showing me the light 😂
i'm glad to know the Sandals Resort commercials during Price is Right was a universal experience
The GAP band tribute was gift I never expected! 😂As a practicing Christian the missionary dating messaging in this movie gave me hives along with the other problematic themes. The writers need ta repent ASAP 😂
NOOOOOOOO not this movie XD my friends and I streamed this a while back and all I remember was us laughing our asses off from start to finish. ugh. such good memories. of friends, not the movie. I can't wait to see what you have to say about this one, queen.
Remember seeing this on BET, they just went for all the good girl bad boy tropes lol
I am a devout Christian, but imma give my 2 cents.
1. I am not anybody's saviour, if he wants to know God that's his choice
That movie is my guilty pleasure 😞
It's based off a true story but everyone was an upper middle class (going on upper class) white "republican-ish" person. In case you were wondering how they got off easy comparable to their friends. And he's now one of those rich white people who aggressively declares themselves Italian American thus possibly not white.
okay but when we’re talking about christian/religious movies being bad we’re not talking about the prince of egypt right?
As a Christian who actually enjoys the cheesy Christian/Hallmark romance movies, this movie just makes me cringe every time I hear about it. Also, as someone who has seen this movie, I can confirm that, like Kendall said, the only amusing part about it is that Ja Rule's real name is Jeff. 🤣😅
I'm glad people have already told Kennie to watch Cocaine Bear cus I want her to watch it too🤣
Religious trauma and pureflix are a match made in hell- you do you and you know your limits better than anyone, I just wanna be sure you don’t feel pressured to make content that actively harms you in the process ❤❤❤❤ Thank you for this video, the film was trash and I’m so sorry it brought up painful stuff, you were hilarious and stunning as always ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
These type of movies perpetuates the “I can fix him” mindset. 😂
Well since no one has said it; "Im in Love with a Cheetah Girl!"
😂😂😂 you’re right
As someone with religious trauma, I'd be very interested if you were to do another video focusing on that. Maybe even incorporate it to a Bad Movies and a Beat, maybe watch Facing the Giants or something.
Nothing like finding love in a vintage band at an early age. 8 years old is just perfect and then that music lives in a core place the rest of your life. It was Michael Jackson for me.
getting ready for work while watching this is the only thing that will get me through this shift ‼️
The only Christian movie I genuinely enjoyed and think was a good movie was a walk to remember. Also (unrelated) Kennie's random burst of song had me cracking up 😆
Kennie breaking out into song in the middle of this makes this a peak BMAAB video 🤣.
I've watched 3-4 commentaries on this movie (all white/ish SJW creators) and Kennie is the first person to mention the racism, so there you go, diverse media criticism is important 😒
I am aware that watching multiple commentaries on the same bad, boring movie means that I am the problem, thank you!
@andchimeras why is watching multiple takes on the same movie a problem? Just means you like a diverse array of opinions 🤷🏾♀️
Damn, I'm literally addicted to this series! I just happily giggled after walking in the house after a long day and seeing that there is a new video out 😂
Thanks a lot, Kennie 🤗
i've literally never been here this early but kennie love the vids great job woot woot GIRL i am on a mission to get you to watch the horrific bet+ trilogy "true to the game" starring columbus short and vivica fox in various turban wigs it's an urban wattpad novel come to life you absolutely need to watch this by like the second movie, lil mama is there and various vh1 regulars are just showing up KENNIE BABY PLEASE
edit to add: right after i finished writing this the clip of you mimicking how we beg for you to watch movies came on and wow okay clock me then fine
20:27 Please read Ride or Die by Shanita Hubbard. She explains this phenomenon perfectly
Imma read it !
You get what you beg and beg for. (And I whined plenty for this movie) Thanks Kennie ❤
The Sandals sponsorship or whatever is going on there is extra hilarious when you consider that the Fyre Fest was set off to the side of a Sandals resort
I zoned out for like two seconds and then suddenly i hear you belting charlie wilson 😭😭
Why does JaRule always try convince everyone he's gangsta? Jeffrey we know you.. come on now 🤦
And oh man, the last time I dated a "broken man" I literally watched him get dragged away by Dearborn Police 🤣 nope, never again...
23:44 THE GAP BAND BREAK WTF IS WRONG WITH YOUUUUUUUUU 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am formally requesting a Gap Band breakdown in every Bad Movie and a Beat from here and forever more
"Idk where in the bible it says you can't make a good movie." SCREAMED. SCRUMPT. 😭
All the baldwin brothers sound the same wow lol
As someone who was on lexipro I can confirm I would also have been like wtf is wrong with you bro?? So unfortunately, you'll still be level headed with the medications. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I wanna see kennie bursting into song mid sentence as a compilation or even series
I love Kennie lol this used to be my favorite movie when I was younger😂😂
I have only one thing to say. Never stop singing.
My sister is a Christian and she would NEVER lol
GIRLLLL YOU'RE ON THE NEW LOVE IS BLIND PROMO!!!!
My fave part was the Gap Band / Charlie Wilson medley.
I WHEEZED at "you wanna send me to hell? BOOK THE FLIGHT" 😭✋🏾
22:36-23:50 😂😂 it just kept going bruhh Lmaoo I can’t with youuu
🎶I wanna church girl that goes to church and reads her bibleee🎶
That song break was flawless
I idolized this movie when I was like 8
Girl 😂😂😂😂
I hated this movie so much that I loved it. I’m a PK and loved the Cheetah Girls so🤷🏽♀️ But I am SO glad you took a moment to give insight and reflection to some Christian women being unnecessary martyrs, just to end up with MESS! Yousta be me, but not no mo. Only Jesus saves, not me. But I am sending special love to you as you go through the healing from your religious trauma ❤
THE GAP BAND/CHARLIE WILSON INTERMISSIONS IS SENDING MEEEEEE 🙌🏾
I just want to say, I saw you on the quay ad, Kennie. I was elated to see my girl getting that bag.
I'm CRYING 😂😂😂😂😂😂 WHY ARE YOU SINGING THE GAP BAND GREATEST HITS 🤣🤣🤣🤣 damn the rest of the movie 🤣
Love and Pies sounds interesting. Thank you Kennie for working so hard for us
Oh my gods, the broken bird thing made me realize thing about myself that I really need to talk to my therapist about
I would LOVE to see you take on more of these Christ-sploitation films just cuz they are so hateful & hypocritical that they deserve to be torn a dozen new ones, however if they're too triggering for you I totally understand & respect if you don't.
Much love to you & yours.
I honestly like this movie. I watched it a lot when I was little and I still enjoy it. It's my guilty pleasure movie 😂
