Helmut Newton. Legacy - Museo Dell'ara Pacis | Bhushan's Fashion Friday

#shorts When I visited Rome in February 2024 for a mini-break, I was lucky enough to squeeze in a visit to Museo Dell’ara Pacis which was hosting a retrospective on Helmut Newton.
I really enjoyed the insightful curation and found the choice of image displayed relevant to today’s audience but also summarised Newton’s development and trajectory at the point of time in a neat way.
I particularly liked how the exhibit celebrated how Newton took fashion photography out of magazines and elevated it to the form that we see it as today.
The braille version of the image was a lovely touch in making this retrospective accessible.
This exhibition will be travelling and is well worth a visit if you get the chance to see it.
