    Amazing video thank you! but i'm confused about something - I was sure that if the ICP is high we aren't allowed to have a lumbar puncture because it can cause brain herniation. do you mind explaining at what point we allowed to do it or not. THANK YOU!!

      Hello Nataly good question! LPs are indeed not advised when ICP is high, the video refers to an Extra ventricular drain which removes fluid directly from the ventricles rather than the spine. The csf is removed from above the level of the brain stem (unlike an LP) and shouldn’t lead to herniation.

    Thank you so much! I have a question, is it the CSF that first compensate, then next is blood?

      @ceestudy5898 the body has more immediate control over blood vessels as dilation and contrition can happen very quickly. CSF is produced more slowly and it will take longer for a reduction in production to have a significant impact on volume.
