    This was so helpful! My daughter's dress is big and poofy and complicated. We tried and tried different bustle styles and different points and nothing was working. Then I decided to watch some youtube videos and we got it! Thank you!

    but, what did you attach the bustle to? Were there button underneath? or what??

      A French style would be done with ribbons or ribbons and loops... this video focuses more on the fitting than the installation.

    For a French bustle, do you have a ribbon on the top and bottom (2 points) on the backside of the outer layer? and nothing on the lining layer? In other words, does the bustled part just lay over the liner (not connected). Hope that makes sense. - Thanks for the video!

      It's going to depend on the construction of the dress for how/where you attach the anchor point but the pick up point does need to connect through the outer layer in order to function. Sometimes there's no liner to use at all... and sometimes you're doing a different attachment style on the lining. So yes sometimes it could be that the whole outer layer is bustled strictly to itself but let the dress guide you on how that could be done.

    What is your favorite way to secure all the points in a bustle? Do you use hooks and eyes or ribbon ties?

    • @adriennegonzales2636
      @adriennegonzales2636  Год назад +2

      Oooo well it depends on the dress and situation but usually ribbons are my preferred method over hook and eyes.

    Very informative and clear. Thank you. Struggling with a crape fabric bustle. Not sure how to approach it for the 2nd and third pickup points. Can i attach ribbon to the lining instead of the dress.

    • @adriennegonzales2636
      @adriennegonzales2636  Год назад +2

      Yes! A lot of crepe dresses can really bustle successfully by anchoring the pick ups onto the lining.
