I met Gordon at a Starbucks in Malibu. He was just hanging by himself. I didn't want to bother him, but I HAD to at least say "hello." When I did he actually stood up to greet me formally. I felt bad for interrupting his quiet time. Super friendly, lovely guy.

Fun Fact: in the kitchen he does yell but they have him go a bit extreme for dramatic effect. You see more of his actual chef side on Master Chef, he is actually quite lovely in person.

I like seeing this side of Chef. I'm actually in the middle of re-watching all the Kitchen Nightmares so seeing him laughing and joking around is a welcome change.
To the Manager at that Costas: the gentleman worker speaking to Gordon through the speaker deserves a promotion & raise. That was a perfect example of exemplary customer service. 👌🏻 He was flawless. Bravo sir and hats off for a job well done.

The man takes his food seriously but outside of that he is a good guy. He is full of passion for his love of food and its preparation. He is also filled with human kindness and has done so much for so many.
I once met Gordon in Switzerland, sitting in a restaurant, back when I used to work as waitress alongside university. I tried to behave as usual so I wouldn't make him feel weird or bother him so I didn't ask him for a picture or anything but after he was finished I just had to tell him how much of a huge fan I am of him and his work. We had a short conversation and I asked him if I could take a picture with him which he immediately accepted.
He's truly one of a kind. :)

That's actually quite common, if you watch Hotel Hell and Kitchen Nightmares you'll notice that Gordon is always polite and nice towards the waiters, waitresses and other people in similar positions. Tell the person that made your food to fuck off, not the person that brought you it you know.

@@Paradroidx That's kind of the annoying thing about customer service. Everyone wants to pay minimum wage because employees will still work hard for it. Even if you're exceptionally good at your job it'll never fully be appreciated since they can pay someone half as good the same wage and it doesn't really make any difference. If it wasn't like this and customer service people got paid a fair wage for harder work then everyone would be a lot nicer and managers would 100% scout talent and try to get them to work for them.
So yeah, there's just too many people willing to do a great job for a shit pay

If you microwave it all the grease drips off and the bacon doesn't have time to sit in the flavour.
Also you can't use the leftover bacon grease to cook other things.

Yes, but no... i have a microwave bacon cooker thing, if you use cheapo bacon, nope, even if u use a frying pan, cant cook cheapo bacon, so much dang added water, have to keep draining the liquid off... if you use dry cured, can get a nice bit of microwaved bacon

That second employee is stellar. Fielded every question, didn't get flustered when he didn't know the answer, ADMITTED when he didn't know the answer, and was a good sport when Gordon did that awful takeaway joke. With an attitude like that, he's well on his way to success in any field he decides to work in, food service or otherwise.

gordon may seem rude sometimes but outside of his shows hes one of the funniest people ever. he knows how to make or take a joke like a fucking legend!
I honestly don’t think he’s rude. He’s passionate about food and the art of it. Along with service and standards to respect the food and the people eating it. As someone who works in the fine dining restaurant business, I understand how he is while in the kitchen, and during service.. which is mainly the only times I’ve seen him a bit more aggressive or assertive about things. He’s not much unlike other head chefs during service hours, especially when things get in the weeds.
It’s a persona for the television.
