I mean I think especially for those of us who've been following you for years, it feels like we crossed paths with you on so many occasions and today we just like seeing you 😊 could be a video on parenting or idk decor I'd still watch you x you're basically like a relative at this point😅
@@Nicola.Chapmanthis was such a great video. Love you longer videos too where you share any tips tricks and application, multipurpose products, dehydrated CS dry skin, but this is different than any other foundation video I’ve seen and very very helpful!!
@@Nicola.Chapman This is the type of beauty content I know a lot of us are after and you put it perfectly into words. I always wanna pick the brain of makeup artists because THIS is the info I am after, so thank you so much for sharing how your thought process works while doing a client, yourself, your family members and friends, since we all are so different with different skin type, different ages, different shapes and features and different preferences. What’s the things a makeup artist is up against sometimes and how do they remedy it? And you hit on these in this video. More of these please!😂 Love it!
Hey Nic, it's so lovely to see you posting. I adore the long chatty videos with lots of comments on why you like the products you're using and the techniques that go with the application 💜 I would really enjoy a video on all the classic MAC products you love. Or given how in the 90s are at the moment, a nostalgic "this is how we actually did it then" grungy look 🙌🏻
I've watched so many makeup videos, but i don't remember anyone talking about putting different types of foundation in the different zones of the face. For smaller concealing, but not a whole area. This was so interesting and informative!
Love this style of detailed educational video! Could you please do one on eyeshadow. A mix of absolute basic info, like what even is blending really, plus any pearls of wisdom you can give us for how you approach eyeshadow (similar to how you explained you approach foundation). Thanks!
Loved every minute of this. I think it’s very informative to understand how you think about faces and skin, instead of just watching something miraculously working on a model without any idea of how to translate that to our own face. Thank you for the deep dive.
Nic, this is EXACTLY what I needed to watch, I was looking with dismay at the foundation on my nose this afternoon at work and how it had sort of just slid into all the pores and looked pink with pale polka dots 🤦♀️ I'd never considered a powder foundation but I'll give it a shot for that area now. Thank you ❤❤❤
I love the longer educational videos (so glad you are doing them again), when there is time to get lost chatting about other things too, it is so nice listening to you and I keep learning new things, even after all these years! 🥰
I listened to your words very carefully and when I tell you that the powder foundation on my nose worked beautifully, I mean it! Nothing sticks to my nose and I’ve tried so many “tricks/hacks”. None worked, but using only the powder foundation, genius!! We need more educational videos please, thank you so much!! ❤
I just love every now and then to see this type of video from an established MUA that is more mature like myself❤ I trust their knowledge and artistry enough that it really helps me with my personal understanding of how to achieve the natural looks I love to wear. Complexion is my most loved area and for me if my complexion is on point… the rest just falls into place. If I don’t feel good about my complexion, I don’t feel like any of it looks good🤷♀️😩 Feeling my skin… you don’t really feel my texture… but to me you can see it more than feel it(or maybe that’s just me because I know it’s there🤔) anyway… thank you for this video… I love to see ALL your work!! You’re so talented and inspirational❤
Love it when you explain as you go along as it’s such good advice Nic would love videos on eye shadow looks as that’s all people ask me how to do and I’m no makeup artist I just like makeup 🤷🏼♀️ xx
Missed you so much. Have watched you since day one. Your not like other beauty "influenceers" you actually teach and explain what/where and why you're doing something. Brilliant xx
Thank you. It’s not about me, it’s about you. I want anyone that watches my videos to feel like they have really benefited from what I have shared. Not to go away from it thinking that was nice and she looked lovely but I have no clue how to recreate it. X
I’ve been trying foundations and powders for 15 years, trying to find something with reliable shade ranges and textures… I always go back to MAC. They just know their complexion game, to me they’re 100% worth it. Nothing works like their foundations on my sensitive, oily but dehydrated skin. Last time I went, the lady that shade matched me used this exact technique!
I am with you and your sister for many, many years here on youtube.. I love how we are growing older "together", how mine needs in makeup changing similarly to yours but most of all how, after so many years you are still so passionate about makeup. Love that.. Thank you for doing this x love from London x
Been watching you and your sister for years, ever since I was a teenager - so good to see you both back on RUclips again ❤ I love love love the longer format videos - reviews, tutorials, especially anything to do with technique and how to elevate a look. Thanks for the video, great tips! ❤️💃🏻
I really like this style of video; they feel so welcoming and approachable. Plus I have exactly the skin type you were describing so this one's extra useful!
Yes, great info! I am a makeup artist and a Clarins BA and I love teaching clients with large pores how best to manage their skin and makeup because it's not easy and most rely on RUclips but forget to asses their own skin accordingly or do not know how... love your educational info Nic!
I've grown up with you guys, learning how to do makeup and go from teen makeup/skin to adult and now 30's 🙈 I love you dearly 💖 I love the educational videos mixed in with the full looks. A good variety of going out/unique looks and daily makeup with applicable tips. At least for me, that's the content I'm after these days. Love you! 💖
Beautiful as always! Love the long video format - highly in favor of longer tutorials, reviews, even chatty or random videos. I hope you are well; sending you best wishes.
You’re spot on. I have completely different skin types and concerns on those areas of my face! I have rosacea, dry skin, oily skin and large pores in different places! Why didn’t I think of this before??? Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for this. As a person with a very oily t-zone, I have always struggled to keep foundation from sliding off my nose. It never really occurred to me that a powder foundation on this area would work far better than a liquid. I'm going to try it.
God knows I wish I still lived near Norwich! I would get myself booked in!, I ask all these questions myself everyday and since I hit the menopause I have lost all sense of what to do with makeup.. so good to see you back and looking great. Xx
Idk if you have a vid on your skincare, but can you do one? Idk your skin looks amazing, I’ve been watching you since I was in high school. Your skin looks just amazing. That was like in 2012, wow time flies.
This is the first time I have heard of this tip, using powder foundation on pores and liquid foundation on the rest of the face. I definitely will try it. Thank you!
I tried your tips in this video. They are sensational and I'm so glad you shared them with your fans. For me, the most helpful was to use powder foundation on my nose, even if I use liquid on the rest of my face. While I have small pores on the tip of my nose, they are magnified by liquids. The powder foundation does a super job of camouflaging them. I can still use a dusting of powder bronzer or blush across the bridge for a sun-kissed look in the summer.
Hi, I'd love to see how you styled your hair in the everyday soft smoky eye video, about 5 month since. Shorter hair gets far less coverage than longer and straightner styled more time than curls. Another idea is makeup to maximise your best features and minimise those you aren't confident in. Also what do you do if you're v v pale, bronzer looks ridiculous but ghostface not particularly attractive either?
Hi Nic, can you do a ‘light makeup for work’ video please? That is my suggestion, having not worn it properly in years not sure what to do on my face tbh! Thanks 😊
Thank you Nic! I so appreciate you addressing us oily tzone, large-pored followers. Love your tips, especially the powder foundation over the nose. I can't wait to try this. I love your longer videos with loads of tips and application techniques. It's wonderful to see you using MAC products. I'm having a re-love affair with MAC at the moment and wonder why I ever ventured away from many of the products that are tried and true and still wonderful....as well as affordable compared to others I have in my collection that I don't enjoy nearly as much. Keep up the great work, darling!
Would love to see some video's for mature woman ( I am 67) and how to disguise eye bags, dry patches, pores, etc. Love your content! Maybe even have a model that you make up?
I have huge pores and usually go in with a super fine powder like the Beaty pie one and then I bit of foundation which helps it stick. Never thought of a totally different product though. Thank you. Please do a wearable glitter look for Christmas.. we for a rave I’m attending ❤ thanks Nic xx
Hi Nic! I’ve been a subscriber since the 2010s and so appreciate your approach to makeup. Would it be possible to see some more videos where you’re doing makeup on various models? It would be great to see the things you talk about in this video in practice!
✨😍Brilliant! ♥️Have loved You & Sam from the Pixiwoo days n before Real Techniques was started.. So lovely to See your Beautiful face n still Watch your amazing Videos ♥️Love You Both!💋
This was such a fantastic video idea, Nic. I would really enjoy more like this. I have a question with primers. Why do brands make primers for oily skin with large pores to be so greasy and slick usually when it causes the makeup to just melt off, slide off, transfer much easier when oily types need more of a dry, gripping type primer vs one that’s able to move about the skin so much? Also, I’ve been seeing primers where it’s suggested to even apply in a patting application over existing makeup (whether used before makeup or not)as a touch up, or way to get even more perfecting effect. I’ve tried this and it really does help to camouflage texture, pores, fill in fine lines better, make the skin not look so dry. Why is this a new concept we are just now learning you can do with primers and would you recommend doing this for most people? I’ve been doing it for years after reading on Rimmel Stay Matte that it could be used on top of makeup also with a patting method to not disrupt existing makeup and for touching up, and I have always had good results, but I noticed brands have just begun including this in their directions and information promos, and a few beauty influencers are just now even suggesting this.
This was both such a pleasure to watch and so informative. Thank you so much! Would love a mix of both full looks and these educational videos. Love your content! It may sound silly but would love your ideas on - how to blend eyeshadow especially figuring out what works for various eye shapes - how to color match eyes, cheeks, lips. I feel like sometimes I end up picking colours or tones that don’t match but can’t figure out why - how to do makeup that doesn’t budge especially in hot humid weather - how to do a day to night look specifically how to touch up when you’re about to go for an event
Hi Nic , I’m just wondering what is the perfect skin care before makeup like the complete routine? And also a video on your night time skin care because your skin is absolutely beautiful! And last thing can you please please help me by doing a video on how to keep concealer under my eyes without going cakey and then disappearing ! I’m 42 so I do have some lines 🙈 😂❤x
Loved this video! I also struggled with the nose area for many years 😅 I use the danessa myricks beauty yummy skin blurring balm powder (only on my nose) under my foundation and I think it also works great 😊
I really really love the informative videos! I've always run to buy products that were featured heavily on youtube by "influencers" but I've always found that the complexion products dont work well for my skin. It is so helpful to watch videos from your experience as an MUA. I've always wanted to learn more about my skin and finding the right complexion products, so I would love more of these types of videos! For example, I've never been able to work with liquid foundations EXCEPT Mac Face & Body, probably because it's waterproof. I've found almost every single other liquid foundation to be cakey on me, can't figure out why! Thank you for bringing tips and tricks🤗
It’s like this video was made for me! Thank you so much for educating us on how to wear makeup in a flattering way! I’m going to buy a powder foundation for the centre of my face. I really appreciate both your educational videos and the “doing a look “ ones. I’m so happy that you’re on YT and sharing your knowledge! 💕
This is SO informative for me right now! I'm back in the office and trying to figure out how to wear foundation again after the past few years of virtual working! I have a drier nose rather than oily... would love to know what you'd recommend for drier skin around the nose and middle of the forehead! Love you!
I think this is why I like to see different modals 😊when I look at Nic I see no pores so I realise she probably has dry skin maybe.I’m over primer tbh.I can’t & don’t really want several foundations but would really appreciate some models with visible pores age 50,I know I’m asking a lot lol.Great video & Nic is looking great 👍🏻
I like the concept of the 4 different areas of the face. I am looking for a product that will improve the look of sunken pitted acne scars and thought the Nars eye brightener might help improve the look of them. A list of the products used in the tutorial would be awesome. ☺
Love this! Can you do an educational video about concealing different things? I have “ sunspots” under my eyes, not raised but they age me & make me look tired. However concealing these is so different to concealing acne scarring, or rosacea or dark under eye bags, or dark marionette lines, or melasma.
Game changer - tried the powder foundation on the nose - stayed all day. But, as you said, just because it worked today, doesn't mean it will work tomorrow! But thanks!
Would you please touch on acne scarring? Also, how to touch up makeup without it getting cakey or separating? Also would you please do an in depth foundation matching video? I have 5 foundations but none match. Most of the time, I try to use very little in the center of my face so it is not obvious it doesnt match. Some are too yellow, some too pink, some orange and some green. I mix them all and still the same thing - slightly better but not matching Your base makeup is always so flawless: look, texture, and the color.. it honestly just looks like magic going on
Hi Nic! Always loved your video, i've learned so much over the years!! Can you do a video for tips and trick for concealer? As I grow older I got bigger bag under my eyes and I kind of just make them bigger when I put make up on... So that my ask, again always loved your video!!
I mean I think especially for those of us who've been following you for years, it feels like we crossed paths with you on so many occasions and today we just like seeing you 😊 could be a video on parenting or idk decor I'd still watch you x you're basically like a relative at this point😅

This was so helpful Nic thank you 🥰 It addressed my skin perfectly- I really struggle to find a base that works well on my nose. X
Thank you Nicola for theses explanations. Have a good day

Would love to see a video for light make up for natural looking skin but for aging skin (35-40)

I’d love to see best colors for diff color eyes and how to choose best blush/ placement

Love this! Can you do an educational video about concealing different things? I have “ sunspots” under my eyes, not raised but they age me & make me look tired. However concealing these is so different to concealing acne scarring, or rosacea or dark under eye bags, or dark marionette lines, or melasma.
Great video! Thanks for explaining things. It really helped. 😊❤
I mix them all and still the same thing - slightly better but not matching
Your base makeup is always so flawless: look, texture, and the color.. it honestly just looks like magic going on
Hi Nic! Always loved your video, i've learned so much over the years!! Can you do a video for tips and trick for concealer? As I grow older I got bigger bag under my eyes and I kind of just make them bigger when I put make up on... So that my ask, again always loved your video!!
Thank you, that was a great video 😊
Would love to see some of your most favourite brushes Nic, like the Hall of Famer's for you!! Gorgeous video!! XOX
Oh I would love that too!
Hi Nick! Since you asked, I like educational videos. I’d like to learn technique and how to use what I already have. ❤
