Bungie filed a lawsuit against the John Doe's, which will compel the court to subpoena Google/RUclips to identify the John Doe's. To my understanding Bungie did NOT sue Google. And from a legal standpoint, Google also did the right thing by forcing Bungie/the court to subpoena them. Otherwise the John Doe's might be able to sue Google for giving out their information ESPECIALLY if they are minors.
I don't see a way that this would make Google/RUclips to change their system. But maybe they will, who knows.

To give a summary Google tried to fight back saying they couldnt follow through with the subpoena, Bungie brought out the lawyers and threatened google, Google folded and finally followed through, Bungie found the people and sued them, the people who did it now owe $7.6 million they they have to pay back in installments for probably the rest of their lives

Can you please date the videos in the description next time? This is like 2 years old.
The problem RUclips faces is that if my understanding is correct, RUclips is obligated by law to take any DMCA claim seriously and shoot first and ask questions later. Which is dumb since even if it is automatized system they should have some sort of white list system or something in which they can filter fake or suspicious claims like no one should be able to claim to be Bungie for example and strike a video from the official Bungie channel.
An idea could be to have a verification system in which at least big brands, corporations and verified channels could register an account or something as their official way to police their copyright usage and be the only ones able to issue copyright claims, and not allow any random dude to claim to be a company or representative of someone until they get clear before they can start issuing DMCA claims. As well as there should be some sort of punishment for bogus claims, but that's more of a legal issue outside of RUclips's control.

It won’t change anything, they can’t increase enforcement/investigating and not leave themselves more liable for a lawsuit. No company will pay extra money to increase their liability.
