TOP TIP you can put a few dots of rubber solution glue on the back of your patterns to make them non slip. I use Copydex glue, add a bunch of dots straight from the tube and let it dry. then your pattern is non slip on almost every surface. They rub off easily and can be as easily replaced
Amazing project. One thing I would do to personalize it is Stamp a single Initial sized to the center of the pattern on top of the grip at handle end away from the skillet . 0:15
Made something very similar about six months ago. I love the idea of adding the flap on the bottom piece, to protect the fingers. Now I have to make a few more with the flap. Oh my, one more project to my list.😂😂😂. That’s Ok 👍. It keeps this me out of trouble and something to look forward to working on. Chuck, you have inspired me iand so many others in our leather crafting journey. THANK YOU👍👍👍👍👍😎
This popped up and I immediately clicked on it. After all, who can resist your cheerful and inspirational voice in the morning? And, this is a project I need and it will make a good gift (especially if I add in the skillet).
Nice seasoning on your skillet Chuck! It looks like my early 1950's vintage Griswold I inherited from my mom, and it sticks less than Teflon or any other "wonder" coating they put on cookware these days.
Is there not enough demand for a three tine chisel? Almost sounds like the six tine chisel is too many tines. Nice stocking stuffer project for Christmas. Thanks for sharing.
PERFECT!!! I've been thinking of making some of these for awhile but never got around to it. I'm glad I was able to watch this video before I made them. I'm sure they will be a lot better than they would have been before seeing this great video! Thanks for the inspiration and the wonderful instruction on making the skillet handle covers.
We didn't make a pattern for this one since every handle varies a little bit. You want it to fit nice and snug on your pan so it doesn't slide around so hopefully the pattern instructions in the video are helpful to make your own!
Hi there! If you click the link in the video description it shows all of the materials used in the video! We will link the two products here for you. ohh the girlfriend will like one of these. also watching him sew and talk about coming from the right side while the video is flipped and it looks like hes coming from the left is hurting my head🫨
I tried this with 7 oz. Hightly unrecommended. The leather isn't cut like an |, it's cut like a \. Basically a giant bevel. The chisels also aren't able to go through it all the way. So I just made it simple and used a chisel and awl... nope. The chisel only goes through the top leather because well, it can't go through a leather that had the middle of it beveled. I have no idea what to use this leather for. I would make a belt, but I need a straight edge to start with a strap cutter. A \ isn't a straight edge. So annoying.
I hope they pay this guy big bucks . He’s probably gotten thousands of people interested in leather with his personality.
A day with a Dorsett upload is a good day.

Thank you!
Thank you Chuck. 😊
I'll try this with some Veg Tan and custom color it... ❤
So many options!
Just made one of these a month or so ago. Now I have to make another because that finger protecter is genius! thanks for the video Chuck!
When he added that, I asked myself if he made it specifically for me...I've burned myself far more times than I like to admit! 😂😂
I really appreciate the easy to follow, no time wasted videos.
Truthfully, Chuck, I would not have thought of this, but I see the need. I plan on making a few of these myself. 😊

Love it! Can’t wait to make these!
Outstanding 👏👏👏

Thanks Chuck. This is great inspiration to get back into the leathershop this weekend
CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN THE STITCH ALLOWANCE FOR SEWING WITH A SEWING MACHINE. I CANT DO THE SADDLE STITCH SO I US MY MANUAL SEWING MACHINE.
My first thought when I saw the thumbnail;
Oh, we're going to make a sap today... 🙈
Hahaha, it is a sap, only filled with a frying pan!
@@robwagner7545 😂👍🏻
great explanation
Thanks for the video
Loved it!!
is this pattern available?
Handles are all variable, so he suggests flipping your own pan onto its top side and tracing out your own shape.
Thats what I was thinking lol!
