This is the MOST saddest love history I have ever known about a sincere friendship between a beloved human being like Thomas and Baby Polar Bear Knut. I am very sad. It the first time I have heard about such a beautiful history.

I truly believe Knut and his daddy are together. God took Knut as this POS zoo didn't deserve Knut and Thomas did deserve his son (Knut). That sweet bear is like his daddy through and through. Erika Doerflein said that when Knut died that her son died twice and I agree. Erika has never gone back to the zoo since Knut's death and I do not blame her. God took Knut to his daddy where he belongs. We miss them both very much but happy they are together again.
You can see how Knut love to play with Thomas, there are also another people who take care of him alongside with Thomas but he is more affectionate and connected to Thomas, well Thomas raise him as a son and love him so much, you can see the need for each other's company, mostly Knut, he don't let Thomas nowhere out of his sight, he came to look for him and follow him anywhere, he depended and love Thomas so much. This is so precious and heartwarming relationship. They inspire so much people out there to show such love to their pets and treat them as a family. They bring so much humanity and joys to the audience, not only those audience but we in the social media who watched and follow this wonder relationship til the end. RIP to both of you... you gave so much joys to our hearts... Thank you Thomas & KNut....

I also understand what Knut felt for what he believed to be his father, one of his kind. I do not understand how it is possible for people to exist in the world, human beings who do not like the animals, who do not respect them, who do not give them a little time to make them happy. it is meaningless for any animals to live on when their only so "loved" human foster father is not around and unable to see him. They'll either lose appetite, or sometimes deliberately end their life.

Knut loved Thomas He was looked upon as his mother and no one else would go in the enclosure with him, he became depressed and literally died of a broken heart. Thomas Dörflein suffered premature fatal heart attack after he was ordered to stay away from Knut, for "health and safety reasons". How could anyone envisage this bear cub might harm his only relative, (as Knut was abandoned by his mother at birth)? The forced separation literally broke his heart. Fortunately (but sadly) Knut soon after his departure joined him in a better place. R.I.P. both of you.

I agree with mmmoroi your views that it broke Thomas and Knut hearts. I cried so much looking at the videos of them. How can they separate both of them when he grew up with Thomas loving care. I hope the management learn something but it's too late. We are left with memories of their beautiful relationship. They are together forever now. Томас умер в сентябре 2008. Кнут жил в вольере , где были ещё три медведицы, они не приняли его, постоянно нападали на него. Кнут жил в постоянном стрессе, где там ему было выжить. В марте 2011,он умер,на глазах у сотен людей. Ему было всего четыре года.

Unxpekted. Tomas died of heart problems (heart attack). knut for death and the absence of Tomas

Er ist gestorben aus schrecklichen Leid, weil nicht verstanden hat, warum sein Papa nicht mehr kommt. Dann hatte das 2 Jahren ausgehalten und ist zu seinem Papa gegangen.
........ Jetzt sind die wieder zusammen für immer.♥️💥🌷

Заменил ему мать, очень любил мишку.
А потом ему запретили общаться с
Кнутом,не могу понять почему.
Томас умер в сентябре 2008.
Кнут жил в вольере , где были ещё три медведицы, они не приняли его, постоянно нападали на него.
Кнут жил в постоянном стрессе, где там ему было выжить.
В марте 2011,он умер,на глазах у сотен людей.
Ему было всего четыре года.

@@user-rs6rp9lt9z Томас умер от сердечного приступа.,там дело ещё в том,что некоторые зоозащитники призывали убить кнута, якобы он неправильный медведь,что он вёл себя не как другие медведи.
Представьте себе,он был очень добрый мишка,не мог противостоять своре медведиц.
Томас,что мог при этом чувствовать?
Вырастил мишку, вложил столько души и сил.
В некоторых комментариях,я читала,что
Кнута убили.
Прошло уже столько времени,а я не могу смириться с тем,что Томаса и
Кнута нет...

poor Knut he was rejected by other bears his disease was horrible as well but no doubt he was very very disturbed when his keeper died
