If you're trying to get better at the game, I highly recommend checking out this stream. He tends to do a lot of impromptu strat sketches, and situation break downs while he is playing, and it really pulls away the mystery of what is good mid-game and late game decision making.
TRU this is amazing! This is really what the WoT community needs. Actual proper tutorials. Majority of the other contributors take their best replays and make a video out of it. This is a reusable skill. I have 30K and I learned something. You had another video with this the other day, where you were helping someone, but a specific, in depth, focus video is even better.
I'm not trying to rebut what you're saying about the IS7 being the best, first tier X tank for a new player, but I have the IS-7, the IS-4, the Object 277 and the Object 705A, and I've found the IS-4 to be the most forgiving, most user-friendly of all Russian tier tens. Thank you for the great instruction.
@Al Sowayigh I just watched your video again, You mentioned the impatience factor and that is probably my biggest problem. (in EVERY tank which helps explain my terrible win rate) Something else for me to work on... Happy New Year, have a Great 2022!
I'm surprised you didn't mention reverse side scraping (asscraping). While holding a corner and instead of trying to bait a shot, reverse side scrape and make the enemy shoot your side. Since the turret is so far forward on this vehicle and sides hard to pen at a steep angle, this works like a charm. Other than that, good guide as always. :)
Watched this vid and then heard you mention you had a vid "the art of brawling". I watched that too and immediately subbed. This is the kind of vid content that's missing from others. Hope you put out more skill/tutorial videos. You explain very well too. I'm gonna practice the hell out of those techniques. They are super helpful! Deserve more subs/likes/views!
TRU, recently came across your channel and you are now one of my top channels. I appreciate the way you teach things in game play and setup that are not normally taught. Likewise, I very much appreciate the clean language throughout your vid’s. Refreshing and thank you!
Thanks for giving advice, because it's hard for most people to quantify how these small mechanics actually work. Spacial awareness is really important in heavies.
I just got my is7 a couple weeks ago and love it. The thing is a blast. I was also used to playing the 277 then swap to the is7 what a difference!! Great video Tru
Cover check.. good stuff tru.. keep the awesome vids coming.. you and taugrim are the best wot gurus on the tube.. I like taugrim for the tactical stuff, but you have a great grasp of the mechanics
Thanks for the video! I've had the IS-7 for awhile now and only played a few games in it as I don't play top tier heavies that much and need to work on those techniques you showed in order to trade better!!
In Wotb the bait thing on lower plate doesn't work as armour is highlighted while shooting, though the idea of that red and terrain lines is great tho and will come in handy in blitz version too!
I like this video. I love the IS-7, it is my go to tank when nothing else is working for me. Could you make a similar video for the T-57 heavy though, that one is a little more nuanced.
When you said you were featuring the IS7 I figured you'd feature that game on Mannerheim LIne. I was in the Cent and there was literally nothing I could do to counter you. It was pretty frustrating as I knew you were winning the game for your team. I eventually tried to flank around the back side of that hill, but got caught out by your Grille.
Yeah it works well in any tank, you just have to start managing your turret weak spots in other tanks but this will help you to not overexpose your hull armor.
No, but may the force be with you. ;) The 183 is all about managing the aim time and sidescraping when you want to shoot, since it has a rear mounted turret.
Thanks for the video, I have seen more videos about the good armor of the IS-7, but in reality, I see that the IS-7 is often very easily switched off because not only the huge pike nose but also the entire side and the back is easy to penetrate, really only the turret is well protected?
Yeah its a POS. I grinded back to an IS-7 after dumping my Obj277 which was even worse for armor, 277 was probably a better tank but I am a horrible player.
What ammo loadout would you run. Is there a happy medium between normal shells and gold ammo? Tier 10 is very unforgiving for silver profit so wondering if there is a middle ground to keep this beast shooting but not pillaging your silver coffers dramatically.
On my sheriff account, I was running 12/7/1 but on my main I was running 0/19/1. It was very expensive to run full prem though. If I had to compromise, I'd run like 8/11/1 I think and I would exclusively use the standard ammo for close range and the prem for long range. These shells have an extremely steep penetration drop off at range. If they increase the shell count, it would make it much easier to decide I think.
I currently have: dynamic camera off, smooth camera on, tactical view off, commander camera off, x16 and x25 off. Whichever one gives the extra zoomout I think is worth it for intel, I just didn't like it
They had 4 rare skins in the X-mas 2018 loot crates. One for T57 heavy, Batchat 25t, Grille 15, and IS7. I don't know if they've released them again since then.
It works well in the IS-7 if you can get the gun depression. I think over the rear it's no better than a -1, so it depends on where you are. I honestly rarely use it in an IS-7 though.
@@TRUvoodoo that is why I asked, as I like to use it in certain situations to avoid exposing the flat side of the pike-nose. Was just wondering why you did not mention it, ty for your answer.
Thank you for the advice, I think the IS7 is one of the best T10 tanks classics. It was the first T10 from Russia and in the hands of a skill player is a pain in your @$$ to fight against.
It was a skin from last Christmas. They were in the loot boxes. It was batchat, grille, t57, and is7 skins. I think they gave them out another time this year as well.
Having to carry 4 standard and 24 "special" shells just to pen things is so ridiculous. Hopefully those new players have fat wallets so they can afford to play their new IS7 :P
@@MrAlpineAssassin Well I'd much rather have separate credit grinding sessions to maximise profit than handicap myself in tier 10 tanks by not shooting special ammo when I need to and potentially costing us the game. Fully F2P player here btw.
Finally, somebody explained it with technical details - not just showing how good was a certain game. THX

Necro Alert - I just got the IS7 and this really helped. Very clear and concise commentary on thought processes and great tips for the IS7 noobs
This video is yet another good reason to get up wicked early on a Saturday morning, and thank you for that!

Indeed it does work like a charm but you will not find yourself using reverse sidescraping as often as everything else shown in this video.
Absolutely the best instructional video I have ever seen and I have been playing for almost 8 years. Thanks
Thanks Tru - great analysis and explanation. Picked the IS7 up last night as my first Tier 10 HT with the looming Clan Wars in mind.

Nice job of breaking down what you are doing with your tank and how you are thinking about the game. Thanks for hosting the code.
subbed, great tutorial easily better than guys like quicky or jingles. I liked this a ton thanks man

thanks very much for this tutorial. I am always struggling with over exposing. Now i have something i can try and apply. It is great thanks again .
hell yeah!! your cover check made me win 4 battles in a row! thx
Hey Tru, great video as always. Thanks for the code also dude. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Tru- assistance is always welcome!
Great fundamentals. That’s what the masses need. Including myself.

This video is the best made better by the best! Keep up the good work Tru!
Great video, true technique for heavy players
Of course is the best heavy tank for new player! And when they try to sidescrape the normal way they get ammo racked
Thanks for sharing your knowledge Tru. I definitely see things I'm doing wrong.
Yea the patience aspect are microing the cover checking is really key. Very well explained.
Great video for new players Tru!
Thanks for the awesome videos so helpful and easy to understand!!
Excellent. Thanks for all the work ! Really needed this.
Thanks for the code, and thanks for these kinds of how to actually micro your tank. very helpful.
Great advice on the "cover check". I assume this would work on other model tanks as well.
Yeah it works well in any tank, you just have to start managing your turret weak spots in other tanks but this will help you to not overexpose your hull armor.

Great video very informative good information do you have any pointers for the 183 Death Star
No, but may the force be with you. ;) The 183 is all about managing the aim time and sidescraping when you want to shoot, since it has a rear mounted turret.

how many does your IS7 carry?
TRU just what I was looking for. Thanks for taking the time to show actually technique that is tank specific.

Love these vids. Need more like this! Happy comment enough? LUL
I love my IS-7. Any recommendations on the load outs?
I think I run vert stab/optics/rammer. I carry a lot of prem ammo. I do run a auto ext instead of food though. Usually I run food.

great stuff buddy! keep it up!
can you make a video about playing with the obj 257? im kinda stuck on it. i can barelly get 2 shots of my tank before i die... can u help me?
I didnt use the 257 until i had enough free xp to unlock the better gun on it. I got IS7 after about 50 games in 257
Do you use commander view or not?
