I worked in a factory that made tents - clothing - shoes back in the 80's It was not easy work sitting there all day at the sewing machine. Hard on the eyes and the back. Thanks to all the people who do this kind of labor.
I am a lifelong, factory trained alterations specialist and tailor. I trained myself in these factories that used to exist in the southeast. Wearing parkas because it was so cold with no heat and sweating bullets in the warmer months. I love my work and wouldn’t change a thing. I have a rare talent, am in high demand and unfortunately for everyone in my region, I’m am now retired. You couldn’t be me now if you wanted as there is no where to get training to do what I do because all manufacturing went to China. Thank you, China.
The first couple look like family who have worked together for ages, and are in sync with every move. Incredible how quick the others are. My mom worked with a group of ladies in an apparel shop for a while. She said many times that she could never keep up with most of them. They got paid by ‘piece’ so they learned to be VERY fast😳
@@KTx-nj8ei Back when things were made in America, I worked in Data Processing at a blue jeans plant in Louisiana. This was in the 70's, and the workers were paid by the piece. The trick is, they only have one task, repeatedly, all day long, that's how they get to be so fast at it. You screw around all day not "producing" and it will definitely show on your paycheck. That's not to mention the wrath of the next person in line losing money because you are slow to pass your stuff on to the next in line, for the next "task".

In the 1990's I bought items made in China and I loved them. I started wearing them again not long ago and everyone wanted to know where they could shop for them. I told them they haven't been available for years. Big disappointment. The brand name on the label is 'good clothes'. I wish China could make them again so does a lot of women. A few years ago, before the COVID-19 I saw beautiful purses. They were very well made. I bought 8 and get so many compliments about them. It seems we can't get these beautiful things here in the States. China please don't forget us we love your clothes.
