I learned something totally new today by watching your video. I did not know you can unload the hopper without putting the arm out. Very great way to keep on combining without unloading all the time.!
Interesting harvest set up. Was the combine grain cart originally an Orthman? Balzer carts are sure impressive.
bigtractorpower ,
bigtractorpower You have a great channel
That’s genius, most impressive harvest equipment I’ve seen for some time. Good job!
It almost looks Like a Coolman or Coolmon or whatever there called bigtractorpower
That's a genius idea, especially when working with limited equipment
Hey everyone. I have a new drone setup and will be shooting some 4k and HD Slo-mo of this setup this year. -- Check video description for link to a video with newer footage.
very cool - could we do an interview with you sometime?
@@CalmerCornHeads I should clarify I didn't build this setup. I may be able to answer as questions on it. Farmer who built it has done a few interviews in the past. I can maybe some some links to them. Email me at meyairimage@gmail.com
At first I thought you were were crazy but at a little over two minutes in I see your a genius
I'll let the owner/op know... My first impression was a little bit of "What?" and "Why?" After watching for awhile, it all made sense.
this has to be the coolest thing ive seen al year!
Impressive amounts of corn flowing there amazing
I'm an old man living in corn country (IL) and have NEVER seen this before.
Great idea! I've been thinking about this for years that it would greatly allow farmers to overcome the limitations of the small built in grain tanks on combines, and a simple way of increasing efficiency without increasing labor costs. It would be great if Combine and Cart manufacturers would work together to create a more unified system. Possibly use hydraulic system? Have the combine act as a generator and just send electrical power to run accessory cart auger? So many options!
Beautiful machinery. We use to harvest one row at a time. Then we had to haul it to the barn, shuck it, then shell it. How far have we come?
I recall my father talking about picking corn with horses...as long as they heard corn hitting the side of the wagon box, the horses kept plodding along. If you stopped picking, the horses would stop on their own until you resumed, or switched to an empty wagon.
Guys used a husking hook or peg to help snap the ears from the stalk.
That is a intelligent setup. From what I've seen. The first row on the long fields can be interesting.
Use to do this with a 1952 chev 2 ton under a super 27 Massey combine in my teenage years. You had about a 10 in. sweet spot between the anger and the shoot to keep the side of the box in, of course on the blind side.
Awesome footage. Took me back 30 years to when I grain carting.... Loved that job
oh sweeeet! Just more farmer driven innovation - sweet setup!
That was cool.
As a sidenote for some reason I listened to the Farmers Song earlier today. And thanks for the meal farmers.
your very welcome
What a great idea 😯😯😯. Gives far more capacity, and therefore, extra time between transfers.
I thought, to start with, it was something codged up because the combine auger had broken, and couldn't move out.!🤣!.
And, that's a HELL OF a big cart on the cat.
Was it originally a grain cart that you've doctored.? Or, is the whole thing, including the hopper, a custom build.?🤔?.
Keep these vids of stuff you've built coming if you have any. Love it.!!!.
Love the ALL yellow and black theme.!🥰!. Looks about the best colour scheme I've ever seen.!
Rich UK 🥰🥰🥰.
Come a long way from dancing two, 4 row wide machines around to get a twin screw truck in to dump into. If it was soft, you tied a couple of tractors together and go like crazy if you got it moving......or get the dozer
I wonder if the chaff coming out the back would get in the cart hopper which would in turn get in the cart.. just wondered. Cool set up tho
I was thinking the same thing. I like the idea...
Enoch Wainscott, It looked like they have a deflector to direct the chaff down, before the grain cart. I didn't see any chaff getting into the cart.
What a brilliant setup! I love it.
Awesome setup! Did you have to bypass anything in order to get the combine to unload with the pipe still in?
I didn't build it, but I did speak with the owner/operator. I believe there was a safety mechanism that had to be overridden in order to run the auger in the stowed position. (I could be wrong).
Really ingenious setup! Never seen anything like it! 👍
thats pretty awesome i like it a lot more than that tri-bine concept
Yes the equipment you most likely have already can be used and not nearly a complex as the TriBine i worked for a company that built the grain cart portion of the Tribine
This will wear on things. We ran our sprayer on the road for short distances for a couple years with a full tank I can see it having a similar effect on the internals of the combine
Why would it?
This makes way more sense.
Honestly, why they don't make 1,500bu combine hoppers is beyond me. Lengthen the combine to make this capacity 1 with the machine.
Tribine
What's with the flashing circle on the back of the combine? Is that some sort of metered/protected air intake?
Im not entirely sure. I've seen that question asked before. If it doesnt get answered soon, then I'll add it to the list of questions if I get to do a follow-up video.
Jarod997. That is a rotary screen. It helps to keep dirt out of the radiator and oil coolers and sometimes helps to filter the engine's air intake. Most combines have it on the side instead of being top mount.
Amazing equipment :)
How long does it take to fill both the trailer and combine bins?
That can depend on crop type, growing conditions, and Yields its hard to say.
That is just straight-up cool
Very nice video
Does he unhook it when opening up a field?
Thats badass..
Smart idea.
Very cool
Excellent video.
Thanks for posting!
Sweet! All I can think about is how it would fair in mud.
in the beginning of the video combine and cart augers are on the opposite side why?
stephen williams you talking about when it switches from video to photo? Thats just the image getting flipped. A post production error during editing
I saw that 2
Cool video watching in Ireland 🇮🇪
What a GREAT idea.
This is F'n awesome footage.
The flooded area footage is wayyy better! Karma!
@@Unknown-jl4sz Yeah, it's pretty damn awesome too!
What's the point on this, saving time, making more bushels to the hour? Can make just that 4,000 with combine and grain cart in once day
do only work half a day harvest is 20 hrs when we harvest and do more than 4000 but a day in wheat not corn
I’d love to see THAT in Farming Simulator hehe
Scott Major start sharing it in some mod forums. see if someone is up to the challenge

Great teamwork! Nice Vid...! Thanks for posting...! Gordon
Spectacular!
Awesome idea, slick setup!
Pure genius. Great idea.
Great vid it might not be perfect but its still bloody good idea its innovation and ideas like these that keep agriculture moving forward. every invention has been regarded as stupid and a waste of resources untill more R&D and perfecting takes place good on ya cobber.
Absolutely beautiful and brilliant
You would think though that a lot of residue would go into the carts hopper though
very good idea. thanks from France
Great idea. Interesting design.
how many acres must a combine harvest to collect 5000 bushels
If he's doing 175 to 200 bushels an acre, then it would be roughtly 28 to 25 acres. I don't have exact data from his yield monitor. I told the farmer to let me know when he's harvesting the local fields and I'd try to catch up with him to get some more info.
very innovative
Great I wish I have the same in Russia in my village
Thats pretty cool.
Very Clever way to add grain carrying! One thing I wondering is, How do you discharge the grain from the Combines unload auger into the collection bin of the cart when the combine auger is in the stowed position? I thought the combine unloading auger Had to be out to the side for the grain to unload? As for the 2017 FS game doing it, nice thought for a mod maker to try? However there is a couple of modded combines already have ways around the amount of grain carried! One uses a arm on the left side which tows a big grain trailer on the left just under the unload auger and another combine by "Eagle355th" on Modland.com has a super capacity of 250.000 Litres so you have to have a super big field to need it to unload? Plus he done a grain trailer ( a CAT one ) which holds 100.000 Litres of almost all goods! He does allot of great mods for both 2015 & 2017 games there? So in a way it been done on FS 2017 but in another way?
Interesting concept, but it does run the grain through an auger one more time - that can't help grain quality.
AdamTh1
That’s 3 more augers to crush up corn with he 2 in the cart and the unloader from the unloading wagon in to a truck
I think best for ground compaction is to fill ip the cart first, to destress the combine's main axle.
Breedam1 if i get a chance to ride along this season, I'll put that on my questions list
How about rear axel??
@@drmyronbouray
Four years later ...
That's what I thought as well, hence why I'm not too fond of single axle trailers ...
If you can extend the length of the cart enough, you could fit twin axles, or, go crazy, and fit that rubber track system, with 'three wheels' - drive 'sprockets' - you see on some really large grain shuttle carts ...
Another thing I was thinking of, is the chaff generated. Some combines use a system where the chaff/straw, is fed directly into the baler, avoiding it having to pick up the chaff/straw off of the ground, and reducing ash intake.
It will mean moving the drive engine somewhere else, and possibly dual fuel tanks, between two wheels at the front, and two-four behind, on portal axles, with a shock system that allows the cart, to adjust the terrain, avoiding the chute being scraped across the ground, especially at the rear, feeding into the bailer, with the baler large enough to also wrap on the go, continuously, without stopping.
I also had the insane idea of fitting a Sherbourne CVT header on the front, that just collects the grain off. With the extra capacity, of the grain cart, plus the baler to compact, and wrap, any chaff, you can then use no plowing/tilling farming, with the straw as weather protection, to a degree ...
... or, use a self-propelled baler, with a swather head set to leave 3" stubble behind, that can equally wrap continously, without stopping ...
... if all that can be done in a single pass ...
... but what the hell do I know about farming machinery ...
Fare play, you have a nice farm set up there
*Very interesting...*
Fantastic idea, like it alot
Very nice idea!
Normally with a combine like that you need a Cat guy on the end of the field ready to go to work at a moments notice
Justin Rasmuson 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Lets make it even harder for the operators to communicate😆
Genious idea
Now I've seen everything !
Interesting setup. I just don't think I would like the idea of the gas tank being under the machine because it would be bad if he hits a rock with it that he didn't see.
Kevin Benecke we don't have rocks in Nebraska lol
Didn't you see how low he was cutting, you'll be long stopped before a rock hit the tank
Satisfying
Love it.
That was awesome!
Nice setup.
That is smart and cool
But Farming Simulator 17 won't work that way. :/
Throw the idea around some modding forums. See if someone is up for a challenge.
White Hyde great idea I was just thinking that post the link to a modding forum, I have seen stranger things get picked up
White Hyde Yeah I wish
Lol that would be cool
White Hyde depends on the yield. If he's doing 200bu an acre than 25 acres. If he's around 180, then 28 acres. Im not sure what hes averaging but it can be in that range
@mnmillenialfarmer needs to check this out
Interesting
Briljante
No photo show the Green card
Cart and combine wheels r too small to reduce compaction. The huge grain cart and tractor were still driving all over the field... causing compaction. Good idea, poor execution.
Get a grain cart on tracks is cheaper than messing around like this.
I see you got your challenger from NMC.
It seem to me like putting a lot wight on the combine!?
I don't know the specific number. I rode with the farmer for a little bit and he was filling the Balzer1550 cart as fast as it came back from the end of the field. If I cross paths with him again during harvest, I may shoot another video to answer some follow up questions.
Farm Dad Word Barf that's good I'm be interested to know more about it.
Not to sure what towing that will do to the transmission, but great video
good thing most combines don´t have a transmission then :)
Still dont think it was built to tow a bin off that size about
most combines there days are way overpowered to cope with hills and wet conditions. (as far as i know) so pulling a little extra weight should be no problem since they use only a percentage of their power for the drives while harvesting. it is not built for that yes. But you can make them that they are ;)
Thanks, Im hoping to edit more through the fall and winter as work slows down... As far as the transmission, I asked and he didn't seem too concerned. However, he rarely travels far with a full load. The triple axle balzer cart is on a pretty good hustle and is taking on loads as quick as they come.
they don´t they drive with hydraulic motors. only thing connected to the engine is a hydraulic pump. don´t knwo what planet you are living on but when you don´t have a clue about these machines shut up
pumping corn?
Really don’t see an advantage, hard on the hydrostatic, never get up our hills or work in muddy conditions. Etc
@john mcgee there is some truth to what he’s saying about the hills
@john mcgee the hydrostatic wouldn’t have the torque to pull it up hils
@john mcgee I’m talking from experience ours couldn’t pull its comb trailer up a hill we had to unhook it and the grain cart would be heavier then the comb trailer
The mind boggles..
Seems like this would be a bit overboard
Farmable Awesome finding you here in the comment section!
Merritt Dingus hahah 😂
Not really, if the tractor had a long way to go to unload the grain cart, then it might not make it back in time before the hopper on the combine was full. Then again for the average farmer around me, they don't have fields that big.
And unless you are a really high dollar operation, it might be cheaper to just have two tractors running grain carts.
Elfmeter
jhitt79 They could unload into a grain truck if the distance to far then like a train keep a few trucks going around...
Why? You still apparently need a grain cart. More parts, more problems. This is stupid. It's why the Tribine never went anywhere.
Maybe you have limited staff, or limited tractors. Although I wonder how significant the extra weight is on the combines engine load and therefore how much slower it is harvesting.
@@MrJaiimez If you can afford a 16 row lexion, I don't think staffing or a lack of tractors is going to be any of your problems. Around here, they just chase those things with two carts.
That is awesome I won’t one’ two no three
Mod idea for fs22!?!
Wow.
We ran 4,000 bushel of corn per hour through ours the other day and didn't need this setup...
Lynn Erford some differences from your little number to get to 5000bu per hour?? Please take time to think about it!!!!
Myron Bouray ours was an 18 row corn head on 20 inch rows with a crappy grain cart driver and a 1300 bushel cart. Just wondering if this is necessary or even worth the cost considering the variables.
What a waste of resources that would put an enormous strain on the combine drives pulling that not to mention in muddy conditions why not do it right just use a larger cart behind your tractor
Alden H stress on machine doesn't matter for someone with as many acres as this guy he'll just trade it off every couple years or just put new drives in this one
Oh yea real smart if you think nothing will ever happen sooner when you need to get the crop harvested without a break down just because its new doesn't mean its bullet proof not to mention maybe getting your manufacture warranty voided by subjecting the machine to early failure
Alden H I have a hard time believing that they'll have any sort of failure
It wasn't the objective to run the towed grain cart at full capacity (so he's not putting maxium strain all day). It mainly serves as overflow for when the combine hopper overfills. Even with a larger cart behind the tractor, he still has to stop harvesting if the tractor is still unloading at the other end of the field. Also, its hard to get unloaded when first opening up a field since the tractor can't pull along side. I have some related questions as well and I told the farmer I would get him some free aerials if we did a follow-up video this year. Subscribe and stay tuned for the upcoming harvest.
I'm not saying its not an ingenius invention and has some advantages in Ideal conditions But in reality harvest conditions are not ideal and also no matter what brand combine you use its premature wear and potential break down plus extra fuel costs pulling more weight and running the grain cart motor also I would review your manufacture warranty concerning add-on equipment to make sure you don't have any surprises if you break an axle or damage the ground drive system
You know you're rich when you can afford to buy a cat combine and tractor
Noah Popiolek cat harvesters are nothing more than a claas in other colours
Magiiie i am aware, but cat farming equipment is pricey
Noah Popiolek of
Nothing like packing the hell out of the ground. I see what these big shit bombs do when applying hog manure...just wait till spring. You already know what im talking about. COMPACTION!
There’s a good reason this isn’t standard practice.
And what's that reason
So basically a tribine
Dreysen Lindgren Its a Class lexion American version. Nothing like a tribine.
Mackenzie owen I'm aware of what brand that is, but it is using the same concept as the TRIBINE
Dreysen Lindgren Hmm. Never thought about it that way before. Its still a clever setup.
Why am I here
You can buy a tribune and do this way better
Could get a TRIBINE and be better production
Watching hmmm
Should have been a John Deere 680 or something.. cat... psshhh....
Al Testic
🤦♂️🤦♂️ not a Cat.... Claas sure the best combine on the market.
Quality made in Germany
Cat harvesters are actually Claas, German quality sucker....
butcher bill i know that Cat have no Combines 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Thats only a lousy cat color not more 🤦♂️
The best combine on the market....
You American cant build a Combine or a Baler 😂😂😂
Thats a Job from Claas or Krone 🤙☝️
Dude, i reacted to Al Testic comment and by the way i'm not even American....
John Deere has some of the best engineers in the world! And they hire some of the finest Craftsmen in the world! A John Deere would make circles around a Claus or a cat for half the price.. It's a no-brainer
Why add an engine to the wagon?....it's being pulled...use the wheels to power the auger.... Dumb idea in my opinion...extra cost for no reason
Im not much into engineering but my guess would be problems with gearing and ratios. I wouldn't expect there to be enough ground speed to get enough rpms on both augers. Then theres some trickiness with selecting between the two augers on the grain cart. There would need to be a way to individually select which auger turns on... Thinking more about it, I wonder if a hydraulic pump would be sufficient to drive both augers either individually or simultaneously. The drive for the hydraulic pump and its install would be a bit beyond me though.
Well Sam, it works for him, and he is satisfied, and he is the only one he has to please.
