- How long does it take you to find the "G#" in your tenor pan? Do you know what kind of sticks you need? (3:11) Knowing your pan makes playing much easier because you can locate any note in the blink of an eye. Tenor players need quick hands that don't think but know exactly where their hands are going.

And forgot to thank you for your time.
Shaking my head. Got the answer in the next phase of the video. Maybe a bit of patience would have helped.😂 Therefore, based on your explanation it is a High C.

Thanks for your clear description of the notes in the Tenor pan. The illustrations and graphics are fantastic.
Thank you!! I appreciate the feedback!
Hi, Ashley. Beginner Pannist. ❤❤❤your videos. They're short, precise & INFOrmative. QUESTION - Why did the no. of "Notes" change from 29 - 28 (in the bottom right corner), for the HIGH C Tenor?
☺️ Thank you!!
Wow, Good catch! That was a mistake. The number stays at 29.
Excellent explanation! Your illustrations are great.
Thank you!

Hi Ashley, great video explaining the High and Low C Tenor pan. Which do you prefer?? I have a low C pan.
Thank you! I have both; low and high. I personally don't have a preference , but when it comes to beginners, I prefer them to start on the low C.
Hi Ashley - great content and love the delivery, simple and easy to understand. My 4 year old son is now learning about the steelpan in school and your info is really helpful to me when I have to support him at home. I tried to access your Google Drive files / activity sheets but was unable to. Are they still available?
Hi Krystal, 🙂 Thank you!! Kudos to you for seeking out info to support him. If there is any way I can help, let me know. I'll work on the files, I didn't even realize the links were bad smh. Thanks for letting me know!
Great video. What would you recommend for a beginner to get? The High C or Low C?
Thank you!! I'd recommend the Low C Tenor.
Lol I actually have a video coming up explaining just that.. so stay tuned! 😊
Hey, finally made that video... on why I preferred the Low C, check it out: ruclips.net/video/QVU3nwcNCJI/видео.html
Love your video keep doing your thing
Thanks hun! Waiting for you to continue playin? Let me know when you ready!
Thank you! My tenor instructor didn’t even explain it to us and I’ve never played steelpan before 🫤
Hello Ashley, I just started learning to play the pan and was looking for videos to learn and I saw yours and you explain so well. Can I ask you where can I get the sticks to buy and also I would like to get my own pan
Hi Gillian, thanks for watching! Welcome! The sticks in my videos are from Trinidad and Tobago... But I've bought from themalletman.com and Panyard.com. With respect to the pan unfortunately my pan maker/tuner/mentor/friend died this year so I am on the look for a new maker... Any recommendation I can give right now will be purely based on what I've seen online and not from experience.
@@AshleyMystiqMurray ! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me. I will continue to watch your videos. I'm sorry for the lost of you pan guy. And also thank you for that site to get the mallet sticks. Do you think it's a good idea to get the jumble pan just to practice at home when I'm not at practice.
@@gillianclyne5181 hi Gillian, I missed your message somehow. My apologies. Hopefully you got the sticks. Were you able to get a pan? With respect to the jumbie pan, the notes are different( limited to I believe 8) so unless it's sticking technique .. u won't be able to transition to the actual tenor without putting in some work.
Great video. Thanks 🙏🏾
Thanks for watching!!!
do you have any lesson on how to play cords on the Tuner pan?
None yet.. but it's a good idea .. I will get some prepared. Thanks!
Useful!
hi i am just tuning in, how can i get a high C tener pan just like the one you have?
Mine was made by my late friend from Trinidad. Where are you located? Perhaps I can recommend someone close to you..
This was a great tutorial I wrote down plenty of notes. And actually started as a beginner tenor just yesterday. I had no idea I chose a hard tenor pan, it probably was the high tenor 🤣. But it was still a great experience, I'll definitely be practicing more. Are you located in NYC? If so, do you provide lessons? Thanks
Ayeee new tenor player in the house 😎 !!!!
Lol I’m glad you got some good stuff out of the video. Lol why did you say a “hard tenor pan”?
I’ll do my next tutorial on a high C pan for you lol.
Yes.. I am in NYC, but I haven’t had any in person lessons for the year so far; the studio is unfortunately closed cuz of COVID.
@@AshleyMystiqMurray wooiie wooiiee lol it was the seconds section, but I switched to tenors. Within the four days I've learned two songs so far. Your video tutorial really helped. 💯💯💯
@@leapea3389 I'm happy! Congratulations 🎉 keep it coming!
@@AshleyMystiqMurray thanks Ashley. Do you also have a tutorial on how to work on the rolls with the sticks? I need more practice holding them correctly. Thanks 😊
@@leapea3389 not yet... it's on the to-do list.
Thank you appreciate
Well done here 👍🏅
Thank you! 🤗
Hello Ashley. Do you have a tutorial and notes for Rum and Coca Cola in the key of c. Thank you
Good suggestion. I'll see if I can work on it.
@@AshleyMystiqMurray Great thank you Ashley!

Hello do you have the notes for hear o lord for the Tenor pan that you can share
Wow! I haven't heard that song in years! I remember it from primary school. I have a few songs on my promise list! But I will see if I can do it.
I am a low C tenor pan 15.26 1:29
Greetings Ashley!
Hey @beejaye! How you doing?!
Good Ashley...do you use IG or other platforms? Any emails?
as a kid i placed Tune bass...where what i it called today..thanks
I never heard about Tune Bass before. Would be interesting to hear more about it. Was it a single pan or multiple pans like the basses we have now?
you tube said "you do not exist"?? anyway single pan stay well..
👀 I don't exists.. what?? Lol
Ok ok. Is that after the Dudup? Or totally different?
It's 2024 n we Want More A ..thank u very much
😆 Ah working on it!! lol Soon soon
I’ve been trying to find a high c tenor for years. I might have to go to Trinidad to get one
A trip to Trinidad and Tobago is always warranted lol Where are you based if u mind me asking?
@@AshleyMystiqMurray I’m based in NY! I used to play for 4 years but I needed a pan after that. Still never found one🥲
Hello which tenor pan is typically played in Trinidad? Is it the lower C or the higher C?
I’m not sure which one,if one in particular, dominates in the panyards, but in the schools, they are using the low C.
Augustus Peters and Andy Neils from Panmax studios are some household names. One of my students got a double seconds from him and they shipped it to NY.
You should try to do an Invaders Tenor
Not a bad idea!
You sweet too bad Ashley
😊 awww thank you! 🤗
