- @tomdrives @WrenchingWench We had a great time and many thanks to Steph for organising - see you all at the Festival of the Unexceptional on the 27th July #classiccar #classiccars #classiccarshow #carshow @furiousdriving @oldclassiccarUK @HubNut
Good video, showing us what we missed.
We were planning to bring our 1100 Mk1 Escort but it wasn't playing ball. 3 attempts to fix and 2 test drives but it keeps cutting out at junctions and won't start again until it has cooled down, only to fail again a couple of miles later. Anyway hope to get it fixed very soon to pop over to similar events if nearby.
Cheers - I wanted to put it out same day so sought of threw it together 🤣 I feel your pain! Our 1972 Rover P6 hasn't exactly been plain sailing on the reliability front - I'm sure you'll get there with it. We're going to Festival of the Unexceptional in 3 weeks so do consider subscribing to catch that and other videos. Regards, Mike & Maia
@@OldCarsNewVan it's a problem that has been there for a few years but I mostly ignored until it got worse. Changed most of the electrics now so I'm now thinking it's caused by a non ballast coil fitted to a ballast system. Fitted by the garage when the car was restored. I swapped out the coil like for like and problem persisted 🤦♂️
Anyway I ordered a different coil yesterday so fingers crossed 🤞
@@OldCarsNewVan I do enjoy tinkering so it's not all bad. Cheers Mark.
Fingers crossed for you - and cheers for the sub!!
I can remember this place from your videos in last year. Great to see there is also always a change of appearing cars.
The Pembleton is really something special. Over here I am usually seeing the Lomax and Burton kitcars based on the 2CV.
Also very nice MG ZS.
The Citroen BX is also something special for sure. I can remember during my schooltime some teachers just bought one. It was one of the most popular cars for my teachers - followed later by the Peugeot 205 which seems to have been even more popular for them. Still wondering why they didn't buy a VW Golf or something else, haha. The Citroen and Peugeot were cool cars back of the time but anyway I am wondering because anyone else I knew wanted to have a VW Golf or Opel Kadett (Vauxhall Astra).
What a cute yellow Austin convertible. It reminds me about the yellow A40 Somerset that I've seen a couple of times around Stuttgart. But this one is looking a bit smaller, probably an A35 I'd say.
Rover 216 ... also something that I don't get to see here anymore - GSI is for sure something even more rare.
Triumph Dolomite Sprint is definately cool!
Very colourful Mini parking beside of that white Nissan. It was just left out to film the Austin, hehe. Ah cool so really an A35 - so I had a good guess.
Morris Minor - I didn't know about them for a while but I've seen some over here. Very nice looking cars.
The Hyundai is really a retro classic or neo classic. Not sure, is it an Accent/Xcel? For some people very ordinary but being honest I can't remember when I've seen the last one of them.
Ah well, before comment is getting too long I better enjoy the rest and shutting my mouth, lol. So cool cars ... loving the Sierra.
How old is the Skoda? Looking very modern to me.
Cavalier Mk1 ... I like it more than our Ascona C
Loving also the Escort Mk2 RS2000.
Nissan Figaro ... amazing! I've seen such one pre-Corona at a very big classic car meeting. I was very curious about it because it looked old until I checked the interior. But it was also built in the late 90s ... so also a nice retro/neo classic for sure.
Weather is also an issue over here. Tomorrow it shall be sunny but not very warm. At least finally not so much rain ... this summer is so terrible.
Oh nice, the Scirocco Mk2 Scala - it's the Scala with the bigger engine (you can tell by the white lines on the tail lights)
Mercedes C-class W202 - looking very nice in white. But these were rust buckets as you can also tell when seeing it driving down - sadly. So a lot of them already disappeared. I also had one of them - gave it to my parents. The car died 2-3 years ago due to rust.
Very nice variation of cars! And you stayed there even if the weather wasn't so perfect.
BTW it's also ok when you're filming the Sunny every time when you're at the same place as the car 😀
Cheers Sven - experimenting with 2 videos launching on the same day today! This one was actually today, and I've thrown together the video and posted it :) The other was a few weeks back where Maia took her Eunos Roadster to a local meet.
@@OldCarsNewVan I am usually not uploading more than one video on a single day, hehe, but it also depends on the length of the videos. But I can remember once I had the wrong publishing date on it and a part was published 3 days too early, haha. But it wasn't running too bad about the views. I feared that one video will stay low. But well, this happens for odd reasons sometimes with my regular schedule. One part can have more than 100 views and the next one not even 20 views. I'll never understand why.
I can remember when you told me to have been on a meet with the Eunos. So I was a bit surprised when I've seen this video here first and I was like "hm, it's the Nissan, not the Eunos". But after watching it I already saw the other video was popping up as recommendation on the side.
