I swear they need to just make GT Canon and somehow fit it into the regular universe. It has so many iconic moments, and so many interesting characters. The only issue I can see is fitting SSJ4 into super and power scaling but aside from that it could work
Your only remembering in nostalgia but speaking on it unbiased it really wasn’t that good, there weren’t great characters (there were some that had potential and good ideas as well like the dragon balls having consequences of overuse and a tuffle coming for revenge) it was a let down and very inconsistent

Like i understand they are children and side characters but the dynamic of trunks growing up with another saiyan his age and best friends would be a friendly rivalry so push each other to be stronger to end up like future trunks and gohan as they get older. Plus the fact they have no problem fusing makes it that more of a trump card in any future battle.

GT is the perfect blending of the original Spirit of Dragon Ball with Z Transformations and hype moments and a fond farewell to our heroes

Canon wise, Saiyans don't hit that growth spurt until they first reach early adulthood. Gohan explained that a bit in Super Hero.
