I happened upon this video and have been listening/watching these for the past half hour. Please don't think me rude but I'm perplexed at the appeal to purchase a several hundred dollar silicone doll (+ paraphernalia) without the added enjoyment of the human connection a real baby provides. Is this for practice until you get your first baby and then you'll have the gear needed (I saw Graco, Carter's, osh kosh etc. Nice things too) and the practice with routines because in that case I can see the appeal. But if there are other benefits please tell me. I have 4 kiddos and I'd sooner get pregnant again with my husband than get a "reborn" due to the genuine interaction a 'newborn' provides. Make a believer out of me.
I find this hobby to be unique and interesting. As you stated you're married and have a family and would rather get pregnant with your HUSBAND. And that's cool but for some its fun to role play without the I do's for others they don't have a HUSBAND or BABY DADDY it get them preggers. For me, I have a busy hectic schedule and it is a stress reliever to focus on my reborn at the end of a busy day. I love going shopping for Sage. But the best part is the ARTWORK... The skills these artist have in making these dolls are amazing. When I look at Sage I couldn't believe the work the artist did on her... It's amazing. Collecting or the making of Reborn is no different than a man going in his cave and playing video games or collecting consoles. Its a more modern day version of doll collecting.
Real babies are wonderful, but some teenage and young adults are not fully ready for a REAL baby, but the awesome thing about is, when real baby does come, you have everything you need. I would also like to say that adults need comfort and soothing too, the same as a child would with a blanket or teddy bear, you don't stop needing that because you age, but you may have a husband to cuddle with at night, or in your case a REAL baby. I too found it hard to wrap my head around this while adult baby doll thing, but it also has some health benefits for people who are stressed or in my case anxiety. I do not own and silicone or Reborn's, and I don't think I ever will unless I learn to make them, I certainly would not spend money buying diapers and stuff, but that's just me. There are really crazy hobbies and collections out there and this is not one for them. (:
Is there a way I could buy a reborn from you for not too expensive for one of my cousins she's wanted on forever and we never could find someone to get one from it can't be over $150
I don't see anyhting wrong with it if i didn't live with my dad and stay n his living room i would do the same thing and i am pretty normal nothing wrong with it specially for those who cant have children. I am not well off n money since i live with my dad so i cant afford super exspensive but i was wondering because i want an actual reborn doll instead of just an ashton drake.
I understand the purpose of a reborn doll for a mother who lost a child. I love the idea behind it. And studies have shown that it helps a grieving mother. But, please help me understand the point for a child to have a reborn doll? I have seen SO many videos of children having reborn dolls and treating them like REAL babies. This whole thing is so amazing to me. Lol I actually love seeing CHILDREN care for these dolls in such a way. I don't know, seems like good ways to help them become amazing mothers! Definitely not hating. I am just a little curious! =)
