Such a lovely finished dress! And the adjustments really do make a difference. I’m sometimes a bit lazy about doing adjustments but it is worth it. In case you haven’t seen, Sew Over It recently showed a hack to hide bra straps using back ties that you can do yourself ☺️

this was very informative, thank you! i was wondering, for your first toil you dont necessarily need to use the same weight of fabric to the final fabric?

Hey! You don’t have to use the same weight if you don’t have it, it might alter the finished look but as long as the fitting is done it shouldn’t matter too much xx

I have the exact same fit issues. My solution, make a size smaller than you think you need on top and then grade out the side seam and stomach area.
I'm like a size 0 on top but I have a 30-in waist. tiny shoulders tiny under bust and then the rest of me is a normal size. the small bust adjustment is my best friend.

I always do that too on more simple garments and Princess seams 🥰🥰

    Hi Paige, this is fantastic!
Have you ever looked into doing your own fitted block? I would be really curious how people use it in conjunction with commercial patterns

I started doing a block, but it needed SO much work I gave up and decided to just fit the pattern itself haha, and will probably use this pattern now as a basis if I draft my own things xx
