Carry over from our discussion on Instagram: I generally use a metal file to know down the ring on the inside of the thrym, and the file down the ridges on the back of the stream light to allow activation when “flipped”.
One thing to note for any one trying this for the first time, when “pressure fitting” the thyrm on to the light, be sure the light body is started inside the thyrm all the way around before pushing down with force. One inside, push it on. If you go to early the aluminum light body will cut/shave the plastic off the thyrm.
Great mod, I have been doing the same for a few years and carry one of these daily. Have it on3 lights and holds up great.

Will this fit the Macrostream as well? I think it’s the same size as the 1L 1AA

what thyrm size would you recommend to fit a streamlight macrostream?

I doubt any of them would fit. If you wanna take a gamble, get the “backup” size. It’s the only one remotely small enough.
