My trip was very similar to yours went end of Jan this year, except mine was 12 days. We had a HEAP of 18/19 yesterday olds and I was 30😅 there were 2 or 3 older than me but felt literally like high school. I am also wayyy too introverted for trips like this (which I did worry about beforehand but deicedd not to let it stop me) I still reallt enjoyed it don't get me wrong. But everyone was very very cliquey and made it clear they didn't want to talk to you unless you were in their "group" which was very disappointing and was my biggest fear which sadly ended up coming true. I do socialise don't get me wrong but it was ALOT. I also really really I mean REALLY struggled wiht not getting sleep. I knew it would be fast paced but I did not expect that. Also I don't really drink which made me feel a bit left out. It sucks cause I've read most people end up with a great bunch of people but honestly alot of them were very fake everyone added each other on insta and on the ferry back people started unfollwing the ones they didn't like etc. They could have at least waited until the trip ended ! 😅at the same time I actually keep reminiscing about the goods parts cause for sure there were many! Some decent people and amazing places ! But I can't deny the negatives of it and why should I? No point sugarcoating! If I did it again I would also fly in alot earlier to give myself a few days to rest up and be ready and I would pack lighter and really simplify things to avoid extra baggage so to speak. I got there a day before and was every tired. I am from Perth too! And gosh it's a long journey. I would recommend planning as much as you can, getting there wiht enough time to prepare yourself, simplify and eat really well and stay healthy for months before hand to give yourself the best shot. Depends what kind of person you are but if you're sensitive and introverted but still enjoy a bit of socialising like me. Preparation is key. Oh and I paid extra for My own room. BEST thing I ever did 😂
Went on a Top Deck tour in 2016 with my best mate and his friend and unintentionally found myself in a love triangle with an 18 year old and a 25 year old (me being 24 at the time). Really learned a lot about myself and ended up having a relationship with the older girl for over a year. Very memorable, dramatic and life learning trip.
Hey bro, 2 questions please 1- what was the oldest in the trip you were in and were they single 2- what was your European Contiki trip called? And what dates did you go? Cheers
ns if he will answer so I will (done 2 contiki and 2 topdeck). For me Contiki was def younger. Oldest late twenties but you get on just fine. I was about 26 and 27. Topdeck is a bit older but it seems not many after 30 but there are a few. There was a 38 year old but he was a dick head =). Almost everyone is single.
@@rnburley thank you, appreciate that you have answered 😄 which out of the 2 did you enjoy and did you the white water rafting and the paragliding? Thanks
In our defense our airlines make international travel prohibitively expensive and inconvenient and we have no health coverage outside our borders so for 95% of us leaving is a massive no-go. My wife is a UK citizen so we've been discussing a possible move over there in a few years but the more we look at it even with her being a citizen it's almost impossible. Additionally, I had never heard of Contiki until Jesse mentioned it in the last video. I doubt I'm the only Yank for whom that's true.
