Thank you for taking the time to cover some Magnum songs. Glad you enjoyed the music the band made. Appreciate the time and the support over the years.
With the passing of Tony Clarkin last week, it makes it all the more poignant. Thank you.

Thanks Al - coming from a Magnum bass player, that means so much!! We really appreciate your feedback, and we may have mentioned them again in 1986 too 👌

Great show as always! This is the first time there have been quite a few in your top 12 I'm not familiar with, so will check them all out. Maybe because I got into metal in 1991!

Awesome!!! I picked up Marillion Misplaced Childhood the other day at local record store, it was so good...keep in mind I was 9 in 1985. Great show as usual!!!

Another great podcast. Misplaced Childhood era was my introduction to Marilion. As much as I love Speak English or Die, no way would that album be released today.
As for my favourite album not mentioned (I'm aware there's only so much time dedicated to favourite albums before losing your audience) -
    Trouble - The Skull
    Exodus - Bonded by Blood
    Possessed - Seven Churches
Megadeth - Killing is my Business
Look forward to the next one 🤟🏻

Cheers for your comments - yeah, we could rattle on for hours but we try to keep it as tight as possible - we’ll eventually cover most bands in time!

From your choices I’d go 1.RATT 2. Dokken 3. KISS 4.Saxon and 5. AC/DC. Surprised Theatre Of Pain didn’t sneak in as an honourable mention. I think it’s aged quite well. Great show again guys 💪

Dokken's Under Lock and Key would be my favorite metal album from 85; well-produced quality songs, stellar vocals and superior guitar work. Ratt's Invasion of Your Privacy is brilliant too, the pinnacle of sleazy LA metal. And DIO's Sacred Heart will always hold a special place in my heart. The title track and Rock and Roll Children are among his best songs.

Jammo strikes again! Mama’s Boys were absolutely brilliant. My first proper gig. Saved me from the priesthood. I actually told Pat that once… not a bad track on that album. Tommy’s illness was probably what stopped them breaking big. Recorded the video for Madhouse off the telly. Great craic.. Ratt were awesome back then. Loved them. And FINALLY you put Dokken in a list. Brilliant band. Brilliant album. Putting that Kiss album on there? nooooo! 😂😂😂 I’d have put Sacred Heart on there even though it’s not the best Dio album and believe it or not, a bit of God on there with Stryper Soldiers Under Command - loved that at the time!

Another great episode. Loved alot of these albums at the time. Saw Magnum at Ayr Pavillion. Always remember the start of the show where Bob had a monks habit on with dry ice being blown through it with white lights shining from behind - it looked amazing. I played drums in a band at that point and persuaded the rest of the guys to do a cover of How Far Jerusalem. Such a great track! I had been a Saxon fan since I was 10 and this was the first year I saw them live. It was a brilliant gig. That shift in image though...........NOOOO!! 1985 was the year that I was starting to shift in my tastes more heavily towards Thrash and as such I think that the one album that is conspicuous by it's absence from your list is Bonded by Blood by Exodus. Possibly the album that defined Bay Area Thrash.
