    Whoever was operating that camera at home plate when donaldson slid in there deserves a helluva raise. That shot of all the Blue Jays players exploding from the dugout as Josh leaps into Tulowitzki's arms is absolutely iconic.

    This is why I was team Bautista after that brawl. I haven't seen Jose making a rookie error in a big game. In moments like this you can see experience and maturity in a player. Odor was so desperate to make the DP that he did'nt make a good throw to first and that error cost them the series.

    • @LexTan
      @LexTan 6 лет назад +8

      If Odor had held on to the ball and looked Donaldson back to third there would be the possibility of getting out of the inning. It's probably a play Odor made hundreds of times successfully. As they say, baseball is a funny game: You can look like a master one day, and a rookie the next.
      That being said, I'm a Jays fan, and have no pity for Odor and his gaffe.

      Gage Makepeace He had to run. There was a force out situation at third.

    • @LexTan
      @LexTan 5 лет назад

      As an analyst, here's my take: The catch and throw to third base would have been too risky. And Andrus would have had to steady himself, which would have given Josh the time he needs to make it safely. If Andrus botches the play at third, there would be a bases loaded situation. Getting the force at second, even if it is a physically harder turn in this situation, is a safer play because at the very least it would be a first and third, two out situation.
      Also considering the hard turn that Andrus needed to make just to get Encarnacion forced out at second, Odor should have held onto the ball and took their chances with a two out situation.
      As a fan, woohoo!!!

    • @running_girl5512
      @running_girl5512 8 лет назад +1

      slipknot00010 it isn't lazy it is simply an error. If the guy was lazy he wouldn't have done anything

    • @Menessy27
      @Menessy27 8 лет назад +1

      That wasnt routine... the SS was off balance when he threw, which then made the throw to Odor low, so by the time he reached down and went back up to throw the runner was already sliding into him, and he had to rush the throw because Martin was running pretty quickly. Even if Odor threw it perfectly Martin might've been safe

    • @majorpaul2009
      @majorpaul2009 8 лет назад

      That said @running_girl, he (Odor) shouldn't have done anything. Had he held on to the ball, play would've been halted. It would've been runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs, and the Rangers would've been facing the bottom of the order, so getting that third out wouldn't have been that hard of a challenge to complete. I understand why he went for the DP, but baseball is all about snap judgments. Odor thought it best to go for the double play, and Donaldson thought it best to make a mad dash for home the second he saw the ball fumbled.
