Hello. Its all personal preference. A ceramic blade stays cooler and cuts bulk well. However we don't offer a ceramic blade anymore.
If I keep the top part will the hair stop from getting inside the motor?
Yes, and we have axis shields to cover the open area by the blade.

What do you mean? We are not upgrading the hitter motor. That will stay the same. But you can also buy the Rebel trimmer with the super toque motor.
