Some guys are just born winners. Wherever joe Gibbs goes. Success follows.
TheDCGuitar13 He was born a baby. Everything else he earned.
Pretty amazing to announce a new team in August 1991 and to win the Daytona 500 just a year and a half later in February '93.
wow wow amazing to see this again. Brings back so many memories. There is no one who knows how to surround himself with good people other than Joe Gibbs. He is a geniues when it comes to surrounding hinself with the right people. He made that obvious in the NFL and in time he made it obvious in NASCAR for so so long. Damn watching this video brings me back. Joe Gibbs is an amazing man. His ability to surround yourself with good people is second to none.
dale jarrett sounds exactly the same then as he does now XD
Dale Jarrett has been the same age since 1992
This is a gem. Thank you. Found you thru NascarNIxon
If Dale Jarrett had stayed with Gibbs he would have won the same amount of races as with Robert Yates. Had Davey not died or Ernie not been injured he would have stayed. He made a tough decision to make by leaving. He and Bobby labonte would have been great teammates.
Joe wasn't on the same level as Yates at that time. That was the difference. That was a different time. So you can't blame Jarrett at the time. It's not like Joe Gibbs racing was successful as it is today.
By the way think about how much Gibbs has changed. He was a Chevy guy and went to Toyota. When that happened that's when the team actually really took off not with Chevrolet.
I do agree with you on that one. The smartest thing they did was in 1996 when they built their own engine program and then in 1997 switched to Pontiac. It wasn't easy for them at first, but they got of getting cars and motors out of Hendrick Motorsports. When you form an alliance with a power house team that you are competing against, you instantly know that you are not going to get the best they can offer. Joe Gibbs did what some owners needed to have or need to do to make it in the winston cup series. You're right about Dale. They won the 1993 Daytona 500, but they were trending down after that. After finishing 5th in the points in the 1993 standings, they struggled in 1994. They missed the race at the fall North Wilkesboro race and came back to win the 1994 Mello Yello 500. Jarrett leaving Gibbs was tough but it work for both driver and team owner.
Joe Gibbs summed up in one word...LEGEND
3:05 - Funnily enough the Redskins ended up beating the Bills in the next Super Bowl.
The [REDACTED] haven’t been the same since.
Great channel, thanks for giving us these memories back
Nowadays, Joe Gibbs Racing is one of the top players of NASCAR and has a rivalry with Hendrick Motorsports. They were also the first team to bring Toyota to victory lane in 2008 and have even went onto win three Daytona 500s in a row with the almighty Denny Hamlin! 💪 Even guys like Bobby Labonte, Tony Stewart and, Kyle Busch would help JGR win championships. So yeah, here's to 32 years of greatness, JGR! 👍👏
"almighty" is a funny way to describe a guy that's never won a championship
It's been 28 years and counting since Joe Gibbs Racing started in 1992 from Chevrolet Pontiac and Chevrolet to Toyota manufacturer he's the living legend and more Gibbs family tree even Ty Gibbs the Grandson of Joe Gibbs
Then became Pontiac then returned to Chevy and Since 2008 they're now Toyotas.
Hut Strlcklin was Gibbs first choice to drive the 18..Hut's career could have taken a different path if he had taken the ride...
I Don't Think So Hut's Career Was derailed By Illnesses in 2000
In an Alternate Universe Dale Jarrett Stays in The #18 from 1995 To 2007
dude when i was a kid and played video games i was in fuckin shock that he was a car owner and nfl coach.....
Gibbs could be a winner in anything he attempts.
His son JD Gibbs passed away early in 2019
Now Toyota owns him lol
….and the beginning of the end of fannies in seats at the races
Dale Jarrett is deutsch bag.he always bolted from a team when a better opportunity came along.a real team player.he realy wasn't that good of a driver he was in great equipment any anyone could won in that Yates car
