I hope at least ONE of these manufacturers ship with DP 2.1. If I’m going to invest $1,200 in a monitor I want a bit of future-proofing for the next generation of GPUs.

I’ve had 3d monitor years ago. Pretty cool. Doesn’t work in all games but it did work in a lot of my games (street fighter was very nice)
I don't think you realize how many games it actually works with. Google Helix mod and look at the list of games they have on the website. The 3D community has been making mods for just about every game that has been released until today
How does the new oled g8 stack up against the qled Neo g8 that’s currently out?

That's because you are talking about 3D text from 15 years ago. Do you realize how much it's improved since then? We now have 4090s that can run games in 3D and 120 FPS and we are no longer limited to 720p. You don't know how good 3D is because you haven't experienced a 3D in your life

what about 27" 4k?
The curve adds bulk, added weight, and annoyances.
Flat allows it to be lighter, thinner, and way way easier to mount on wall or on a desk mount. I actually prefer the flat over the curved.
I wonder how many nits they can display on full screen brightness. Pretty big consideration for me
They’re not telling bc it’s not that bright. 1000nit in a 10% window. Dated hand me down technology at a premium price point.

I personally think that a monitor should be able to hit a minimum of 1000 bits full screen sustained. I have seen OLED monitors with HDR and sure it’s good but yeah not very bright in HDR not to mention SDR mode. That’s why I have been waiting to buy a new monitor for 3 years now
very dim '~200 nits on 100% window' just like previous...They showcase OLED monitors in Dark and Dim-lit areas specifically so people don't notice the low brightness...

Expect ~250 nits fullscreen white and 1000 nits peak in 3% windows.

Can't stand anti glare on oleds. It kind of defeats the purpose of a vibrant color accurate display.

Seems to me the existing 34" g8 oled
So no info on if these "new" panels are different from last years. No info on if they use a traditional RGB pixel array. No info on DisplayPort version, no info on if the 32" uses DPC at 240Hz... Not good at all...

I'm sure they will position their 1440p variant crazy high regardless of the competition. Samsung squeeze their brand recognition when it comes to budget displays and it works too. Get ready for the 1440p variant to be something crazy like 800$.
I sure hope there is still a new 34” ultrawide QD-OLED coming!

How much do we sacrifice resolution and/or frame rate for 3D?
It needs two pixels per 2d pixel so it's a 50% cut down.
Frame rate gets cut in half because he has to render two different scenes for each eye. But seeing as how we have 4090s and upcoming 5,000 series cards from Nvidia, you will be playing 3D at 60fps Plus on just about every game out there. And it is an experience like no other

Dope and another report that people may be jumping the gun on the negative reaction to the anti glare coating.. I’m positively intrigued.. if it isn’t great we have alternatives but I’m not dismissing this. Who knows maybe they cracked the coat and made the perfect oled for day gaming out blinds
To me the new coating definitely doesn't look as grainy as the one on current 27" 240hz W-Oled monitors at least. However, I'm basing my opinion solely on what's captured through video.

The Alienware has just published their new list of monitors and the 32in 4k QD_OLED (AW3225q5) is 1199$ launching for sale on the 11th

The Rtings reports on QD-OLED burn in are concerning enough for me to hold off on them for another year or so to see how things shake out.

Flat, 32 inches, 4K, 240 Hz, and at a bare minimum semi gloss, so I get a little bit of best of both worlds, I’m sold. One of my next monitor to be a HDR capable monitor and No one is producing miniLED like this, I’m so excited that this is finally out. still want to see LG‘s direct competitor. come summertime. I’m finally switching over to 4K baby.

This might be samsungs first 32 inch 4k qd-oled, but its not "the first". Id say its never a good idea to make those claims if you dont know/havent made the rounds, we will never know who's "first" in these things, but in this case, alienware has the same panel on display, and msi has already sent theirs out to reviewers too, plus probably others

Do these monitors have displayport 2.1 to drive those monitors at 240 Hz and 360 Hz, else they are not future proof and a waste of money.
They run 4k 240hz with DSC via DP1.4

It's not matte finish its simi gloss and its not bad actually you most likely won't notice it too much and it's been on some of the first qd oled monitors this is most likely a improved version somehow.
Correction some of the new gen models have it its dependent on weather or not the monitor manufacturers implement it on their panels I heard the ones from Dell and asus don't have it and hardware on boxed did a preview with the msi one that does have it and they described it as semi gloss and it wasn't bad but wait and see i guess.
@@nestaash They all use different terminology. QD-OLED is "semi-glossy" by definition. This is actually glossy. Samsung Electronics are the only one so far confirmed to use a matte finish on their monitors. ASUS, MSI and Alienware version of the 32" 4K 240hz QD-OLED panel are confirmed to be glossy by independent reviewers. Fingers crossed for HP, only one with DP 2.1, to be glossy.

WTF, you spend like 80% of the video on the same old drab monitors and devote less than a minute to the cutting edge 3D. Details man, how is the color clairity of this thing? How far away from launch were they talking? Ask real questions, do some actual journalism. What happens when its in 3D mode when you display windows? Probably looks goofy, but still.

Flat monitors are really unideal in comparison to curved, and cause more eye strain. Every maufacture talks about why 1000r curved is ideal on their website yet they release flat monitors in 2024.
Because not everyone wants a curved monitor there are curved ones being released as well you can buy those while we will get flat monitors like we want, we clearly don't care about a technical "superiority".

Asus destroyed samsung this year. 480hz 1440p oled with ulmb2. 240hz 4k with dual mode 1080p 480 hz 32 inch oled. Nobody is buying these with samsungs shitty qc/customer service and ridiculous matte coatings. Typing this on my scanlined neo g8 that I will be selling to upgrade to an Asus monitor.
Lg display made this 1440p 480hz not Asus and it's also matte. Where did you see the ULMB 2 spec?
